Post Game Report: Reno Pond Hockey VS Dough Boys and Blue Moon

It took me some extra time to make this. I originally wanted this to come out last Sunday but here we are. Reno Pond Hockey had back to back game this last weekend. The first one took place Friday and was against the Dough Boys. Yes thats the Dough Boys as in the Dough Boys donuts. Lacking key defensemen, Reno Pond Hockey struggled to keep dough boys out of the net. There was a short bench. Reno Pond Hockey had a total of 9 players for that game. Thats not even enough for two full lines. The defensive troubles with a short bench were a large part as to why Reno Pond Hockey lost the game. If Reno Pond Hockey had a full bench, I think they would have won the game.

The second game which was less than 24 hours later was played against Blue Moon. That game was a struggle. The lack of players came back for the second game in a row. This time Reno Pond Hockey had to play a full game with only 5 players. Five players is one shift. All five players played the whole 60 minutes. The only break they got was during intermissions or a time out. Reno Pond Hockey didn’t manage to score but they had a few really good chances. This game showed how committed those five players were. They knew that this was going to be one of the physically hardest games they were going to play this season. They knew that there was a large chance they were going to lose. With all the odds stacked against them they played anyway. That shows how much heart these players had.
