
In week two of the Sierra Inline Hockey League, Reno Pond Hockey took on The Vets. It was game three for Reno Pond Hockey. The game was on January, 29th 2022 at 3:00 PM. The game took place at the home of the SIHL, the Marv Teixeira Pavilion.

Reno Pond Hockey had played two games in the first weekend of the SIHL. Reno Pond Hockey was 0-2-0 going into this game. Reno Pond Hockey lost 3-5 to the Cobras and 3-6 to the Mighty Bucks. Reno Pond Hockey was looking for their first SIHL win. This was be the second game of the day for The Vets. They played earlier at 1:00 PM.

The game was at 0-0 for most of the first half. It took fourteen minutes for the first goal to be scored. The Vets scored first. Reno Pond Hockey tied the game. For a while the game was back and fourth between Reno Pond Hockey tying the game and The Vets regaining the lead. Reno Pond Hockey had quite a few chances that just missed the net. There was at least one time where the puck hit the post and came back out. Reno Pond Hockey did score pretty impressively on one heavy slap shot from the point. There was a couple of saves in the final ten minutes by Clint McCoy that The Vets tried to argue went in. Beau Perry has two goals in three games. He’s just found himself in the right place at the right time. Josh Seidemann Broke his skate late in the game. His wheel fell out.
Finding the back of the net continued to be a problem for Reno Pond Hockey. Finishing chances is a big part of their game that they are missing out on. They are getting chances. They are keeping games close and competitive. They are improving. They didn’t give up as many break aways in this game. Hitting the net and finding the back f the net will be the big talking points this week as Reno Pond Hockey continue their quest for their first win.
