SIHL Post Game Report: Reno Pond Hockey VS M&Ms

For week seven of the Sierra Inline Hockey League, Reno Pond Hockey took on M&Ms. It was game eight for Reno Pond Hockey. The game was on March 5th 2022 at 2:00 PM. The game took place at the home of the SIHL, the Marv Teixeira Pavilion.

Reno Pond Hockey was still last in the standings. Reno Pond Hockey tied 4 to 4 with the Vets in their last game. The M&Ms were top in the standings. M&Ms were coming off of a 7-6 win over the Cobras. The all time record between Reno Pond Hockey and M&Ms was 0-1-0 heading into this game. M&Ms won 1-3 in the last game with Reno Pond Hockey.

A good portion of the fist half was tied. Reno Pond Hockey scored first. When the game was tied at 2-2, Reno Pond Hockey almost scored on the breakaway. That was late in the second half. A goal there would have changed the hole momentum and possibly the outcome of the game. M&Ms scored a goal from a back door pass with less than a minute to go. Reno Pond Hockey almost got back to back ties but couldn’t pull through. With two games left followed by the playoffs, Reno Pond Hockey has the chance in their final weekend of play to move up from 5th to 4th. There is no info yet from the league on the playoff format.
