For week eight of the Sierra Inline Hockey League, Reno Pond Hockey took on Cobras followed by Mighty Bucks. It was the last two games of the regular season for Reno Pond Hockey. The games were on March 12th 2022 at 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The games took place at the home of the SIHL, the Marv Teixeira Pavilion.

It’Reno Pond Hockey was last in the standings. Reno Pond Hockey lost 2-3 to M&Ms in their last game. The Cobras were 3rd in the standings. Cobras were coming off of a 6-7 loss to M&Ms. Cobras last game was rescheduled. The all time record between Reno Pond Hockey and Cobras was 1-0-0. Reno Pond Hockey won 5-4 in the last game with Cobras.
The Mighty Bucks were 4th in the standings. Mighty Bucks were coming off of a 3-5 loss to M&Ms. The all time record between Reno Pond Hockey and Cobras was 0-2-0. Mighty Bucks won 0-5 in the last game with Reno Pond Hockey.

Reno Pond Hockey trailed for the whole game for both games. Both games had the same final score. Like a lot of games this season, Reno Pond Hockey played from behind and was just trying to catch up. Reno Pond Hockey wouldn’t stop the bleeding. They couldn’t keep the puck out of the net. They couldn’t finish their chances. Reno Pond Hockey would miss the net and then the other team would score on a breakaway. It was just two tough games where Reno Pond Hockey couldn’t keep the puck out of their net.

Thats it for the Sierra Inline Hockey League regular season. The playoffs are set to start or happen on March 26th, 2022. I do not know what the playoff format is yet. I do not know if Reno Pond Hockey is in or not. Since their are only five teams I did suggest a five team tournament. 5th and 4th place would play in a wildcard game to play 1st place. The semifinals would be the wild card winner vs 1st place and 2nd vs 3rd place. the semifinal winners play in the final. We will see what happens and I will post updates as we get more information about the playoffs.
