It has been a while since I have posted a new concept in my Reno Ice Adult League series. Next up in the RIAL concept is Cruz Construction from B-League. Cruz Construction is a construction company in Reno NV. Their name is often shortened to just Cruz. For this concept I made the team much older than the actual company. For this concept they are the New York Yankees of the league. They have won every title game they have been in. They have won a 3rd of the league titles. “Historically” in this concept they poach the best talent from across the RIAL, while being the most exclusive team to get on in the league.
For this concept Cruz Construction plays in the Tahoe Division of B-League along with Mid-Ice Crisis, The Tahoe Dawgs, and the Tahoe Storm.

Cruz Construction Primary Logo
The Cruz Construction primary logo is a green monogram consisting of two C’s. The C’s stand for Cruz Construction. The double C is something found across the Cruz Construction branding in this concept. It is supposed to evoke association with teams like the Yankees. A lot of the branding for this concept is inspired by the Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, Oregon Ducks, and the New York Yankees.

Cruz Construction Secondary Logos
The Secondary logos are recolors of the primary logo in silver and white.

Cruz Construction Alternate Logos
For the first four alternate logos here (top 4), I was messing around, found something I liked and rolled with it. The Battle Born wordmark logo is for their city jersey. The circle with the Nevada flag is not just for their city jersey but is used as an alternate logo. The three arched Cruz wordmarks are something that again are found across the Cruz Construction branding timeline.

Cruz Construction Throwback Logos
For this concept Cruz Construction has been around since the early 1960s. In reality the company has only been around since 1998. The first two rows of logos would have been used from the early 60s all the way up to the late 1980s. The first logo (upper left) would have been used the most, however they would not have had a primary logo. All of the logos would have been used however they wanted with no real hierarchy.
In the early 90s Cruz Construction would have rebranded. The first five logos on the third row would have been that rebrand. Basically they shortened the number of logos in use. The first double C logo with the circle around it would have been their primary logo. This rebrand would have been a much needed streamline for the team. This would have been the most successful era of the team.
Just a few short years later in the mid 90s would rebrand again. The last six logos on the third row would have been their mid 90’s rebrand. This rebrand would have seen Cruz update their double C logo by changing the font and adding outlines. The first double C logo (green/silver) would have been the primary logo. They also would have introduced new Cruz wordmark logos with the new font. They also updated their colors.
Mid to late 2000’s saw another rebrand. This one would happen because of the teams effort to modernize their branding. The fourth and fifth row from the top are this branding. The first logo in the fourth row from the top would have been the new primary logo. They would have introduced a new font as well as bring back their original font in their current colors.
As another effort to yet again modernize, they rebranded again in the mid 2010s. The bottom row would be that branding. The first logo on the bottom row would be their new primary logo. More of less this branding was not well received by their fans. The main criticism would have been that it was too much of a departure from what their branding has been historically. The fans were hoping for something closer to the branding they had back in the early 90s and got this.

Cruz Construction Jerseys
The Dark jersey is green, white and black. On the front it the Cruz alternate wordmark with numbers below it. On the shoulders are the double C primary logo and the circle with the Nevada flag logo. The Light jersey is the same except it is white, green, and black. For this concept Cruz has mainly used a wordmark on their jerseys.
The Third jersey is black, green and silver. The double C logo is on the front. On the shoulder is the circle with the Nevada flag logo.
The City jersey is inspired by the Nevada state motto. That motto is “Battle Born”. The jersey is green and white. On the front is Battle Born. The shoulder logos from the Dark jersey are on the sleeves of this jersey around the elbows.
The Retro jersey is green, white and black. It would have been their home jersey in the mid to late 90’s. It has the Cruz wordmark across the front with the double C logo in the corner.
The Surge jersey is silver and black. On the front is the Cruz alternate logo. There are no other logos on the jersey.
My favorite out of these is probably the light or retro jerseys.
