
Reno Pond Hockey took on Mid-Ice Crisis in their last game. It was game four of the RIAL D-League Summer 2022 season. The game took place on Saturday July, 2nd, 2022 at 2:30PM. The game was at Reno Ice.

Reno Pond Hockey were coming off of a 6-3 win against the Grrrowlers. Reno Pond Hockey was 2-1-0. Reno Pond Hockey was in 3rd place in the D-League standings. Mid-Ice Crisis were coming off of a 6-7 shootout loss to Dough Boys. Mid-Ice Crisis were 1-1-1. Reno Pond Hockey was 1-0-0 all time vs Mid-Ice Crisis. Reno Pond Hockey beat Mid-Ice Crisis 7-1 back on May 25th, of 2021.

Going into the game it was a holiday weekend. That did effect who could play, who came out and who we had in net. We were not the only team that day struggling to get people to show up. Mid-Ice Crisis scored first. It was 0-2 before Reno Pond Hockey scored. On the rush Reno Pond Hockey took the puck behind the goal line. They were able to get the puck in front of the net. The first shot was whiffed on. The second shot was saved. Reno Pond Hockey was able to burry the rebound. The score was 4-1 after the first period.
Reno Pond Hockey would score again the second period. Reno Pond Hockey would get the puck out of their zone. There were able to get it to their player who was behind Mid-Ice Crisis defense. They scored on the break away to make the score 2-4.
Reno Pond Hockey would score their final goal of the game late in the second period. They took the puck into the offensive zone. The puck was sent from the corner back up to the point. The defender made some moves and put the puck right over the goalies shoulder. The final score would be 3-6 Mid-Ice Crisis.
There isn’t a lot of time to dwell on this game. Which is probably a good thing. We play again Wednesday. We have the opportunity to bounce back. This game can pretty much be chalked up to it was a holiday weekend and players not being able to make it hurt us overall. I think we can beat them. We will have a chance to before the end of the season.
