Dough Boys had a 3-4 loss to The Guardians in their previous game. Dough Boys were on a three game losing streak. Dough Boys were 2-3-1. Dough Boys were in 4th in the D-League standings. The all time record between Reno Pond Hockey and Dough Boys was 1-0-0. Reno Pond Hockey last played Dough Boys on June 16th, 2022. That game ended in a 3-2 Reno Pond Hockey win.

Reno Pond Hockey scored the first. They opened up the scoring a little over two minutes into the game. The Dough Boys mishandled the puck on the offensive blue. Reno Pond Hockey was able to steal the puck and skate off with a 2-0. With no pressure, #23 Joshua Schaap shot the puck and scored.
About a minute later Reno Pond Hockey would expand their lead to 2-0. #36 Brandon Angues took the puck into the into the offensive zone. He got a pass off from the corner to the left of the goalie. The pass connected to #25 Ethan Crisp. He was able to find the back of the net.
Reno Pond Hockey made it 3-0 about half way through the first period. The Dough Boys didn’t clear their defensive zone. The puck was kept in at the blue line. The puck gots put in the corner. #19 Brent Cordell got the puck. He passed it to #28 (C) Zac Seidemann who was heading towards the net. Zac took the shot and scored.
The first period would end with Reno Pond Hockey leading 3-0.
2 minuted into the second period Reno Pond Hockey had a two on one, #19 Brent Cordell passed the puck to #2 Brad Ferrer. Brad deked out the goalie and put the puck into the back of the net. That made the score 4-0.
With just about 6 minutes to go in the second period Reno Pond Hockey would take 5-0 lead. #23 Joshua Schaap controlled the puck in the defensive zone. He passed the puck to #19 Brent Cordell in the neutral zone. He took it into the offensive zone where he made a move on the defender which opened up enough space for him to take a shot which found the back of the net.
Reno Pond Hockey took a 5-0 lead into the third period.
Dough Boys finally scored about half way through the third period. That would make the score 5-1. With just over five minutes to go Reno Pond Hockey would score the games final goal. #23 Joshua Schaap would pass the puck to #10 Bihn Ly. Bihn would take a shot that found the back of the net.
The final score was 6-1 Reno Pond Hockey.
Reno Pond Hockey scored first which was huge after their last game. They were able to build on that lead fairly quickly giving them a large advantage. Then they just didn’t let down on the pressure. They kept the pressure on the Dough Boys and it worked out. It was a good win for Reno Pond Hockey. Amazing goaltending. Solid defense. Good pressure throughout the game. The Dough Boys were leaving large parts of the ice open. That is because they were bunching up. They would sometimes have 3 or 4 players pressuring the puck carrier leaving multiple Reno Pond Hockey players open. This did happen more and more as the game went on. Reno Pond Hockey was able to take some advantage over this as it did allow their players to skate with the puck more, handle the puck more, and more time to shoot. Ultimately this game comes down too, Reno Pond Hockey need a solid bounce back after their last game and this was it.

Goal three was scored by #28 (C) Zac Seidemann and assisted by #19 Brent Cordell. Goal four was scored by #2 Brad Ferrer. It was assisted by #19 Brent Cordell. Goal five was scored by #19 Brent Cordell. It was assisted by #23 Joshua Schaap. Goal 6 was scored by #10 Bihn Ly and assisted by #23 Joshua Schaap.
