Reno Ice Adult League Summer 2022 Playoffs | Update Two

Starting off with some playoff news. Sunday August 14th is the set reschedule date for games that need to be rescheduled. Playoffs will start Monday August 15th. August 15th and 16th will probably be the E-League Semi-Finals. The D-League playoff semi-finals will be on August 17th. Two games are scheduled for August 18th. That will probably be the C-League semi-finals. Two more games are scheduled for the 19th. That will probably be the B-League Semi-finals. 12:45pm to 7pm on Saturday August 20th will be the Championship Saturday. I believe it will be E-League Championship followed by the D-League Championship. That will be followed by the C-League Championship then B-League Championship. Exciting stuff.

In B-League one team has already won the regular season title. A second team has secured their playoff spot. The last two spots in the playoffs are up for grabs. In C-League there is still a fight for the top spot and three playoff spots are not secured. In D-League there is a regular season title winner. The first three playoff spots are secured. There is also a close three way battle for the last playoff spot. In E-League three playoff spots have been secured. Their is a battle going on for the top of the standings. Playoff seeding and the final playoff spot are going to come down to the wire.

B-League

In B-League Cruz Construction have secured their playoff spot. They have also secured the B-League regular season title and number one seed in the playoffs. This is the fourth season in a row Cruz Construction has won the B-League regular season title. If they win their remaining games, it will be the third out of four seasons where they have not lost a game. So far they have lost one game in four seasons. Their current overall record since the Reno Ice Adult League started is 41-1-0 not including playoffs. If we include playoffs the record jumps to 45-2-0. They have a 95.74% win percentage as of right now including two out of three B-League Championships. I just bring this up because I think it’s crazy how they have been able to achieve this level of success.

Tahoe Storm Are the only other B-League team to secure a playoff spot. Even though they don’t have 11 points they are too far ahead of 5th place to be eliminated. 4-Seasons and Tahoe Dawgs are on the edge of getting playoff spots. Black Ox have been eliminated from the playoffs. If Hyundai N-Line win the remainder of their games they may make the playoffs. If they lose even one game or a game goes into a shootout, they will be eliminated from playoff contention. If Hyundai N-Line are eliminated from playoff contention, 4 Seasons and Tahoe Dawgs will make the playoffs.

Secured Playoff Spot: Cruz Construction, Tahoe Storm

Eliminated From Playoffs: Black Ox

Current Standings as of August 3, 2022:

C-League

In C-League the Murder Hornets have secured their playoff spot. If the Murder Hornets win one game of their two remaining games and Blue Moon loses one of their remaining games or if the Murder Hornets win both of their remain games they will secure the C-League regular season title and number one seed in the playoffs. If Blue Moon wins both of their remaining games they could win the C-League regular season title and get the number one seed in the playoffs. The Murder Hornets are still the only team in C-League to secure their playoff spot. None of the other teams have been eliminated yet.

If Blue Moon wins one more game or loses in a shootout they will secure their playoff spot. The Desert Dogs and Shandies need to win at least one game and at least lose in a shootout. If they lose back to back shootouts one of them will make the playoffs the other might not. If they lose both games they may both not be in the playoffs. If the United Skates win both of their remaining games and Desert Dogs or Shandies lose one of their remaining games in regulation they could make the playoffs. If the Desert Dogs or Shandies lose both of their remaining games and the United Skates win one game they could make the playoffs. Basically the United Skates can’t lose both games, but if the Desert Dogs or Shandies get three points the United Skates will be out. The Reno Fire Hosers would have to win both of their remaining games with two of three teams (Desert Dogs, Shandies or United Skates) ending the season with eight or less points. If the Reno Fire Hosers win tie breakers they could make the playoffs. In that scenario their could be four teams tied with eight points but there would have to be at least two teams tied with eight points. Fourth place and fifth place would have to be tied with eight points. If the Reno Fire Hosers lose one of their two remaining games they will be eliminated from playoff contention.

Secured Playoff Spot: Murder Hornets

Eliminated From Playoffs: none

D-League

In D-League the Slappy Gilmores have secured a playoff spot. They have also secured the D-League regular season title and number one seed in the playoffs. Mid-Ice Crisis and Reno Pond Hockey have also secured their playoff spots. Reno Pond Hockey does not have eleven points yet but is too far ahead of fifth place to be eliminated. The second and third place semi-final matchup is already set between Mid-Ice Crisis and Reno Pond Hockey. At this point they are fighting over second place. None of the teams have been eliminated yet. Fourth though sixth place are fighting for that last playoff spot. There is only one point separating those three teams. If the Dough Boys win both remaining games they will make the playoffs. If the Guardians and Grrrowlers lose both remaining games the Dough Boys are in. If the Dough Boys lose both remaining games and the Guardians or Grrrowlers win one game they could be in the playoffs. There are a lot of scenarios here, but basically it’s a really close fight for that last playoff spot. One point or goal could decide if Dough Boys, Grrrowlers or Guardians make the playoffs. It could come down to the last game of the season.

Secured Playoff Spot: Slappy Gilmores, Mid-Ice Crisis, Reno Pond Hockey

Eliminated From Playoffs: none

E-League

In E-League there is only one game remaining in the regular season. Trash Pandas, Battle Born and Bangarang have secured playoff spots. Satans Gatekeepers have been eliminated. Battle Born is currently leading the E-League standings. They have not secured first place yet. Trash Pandas are only one point away from tying Battle Born. Long Drink is only one win away from tying NPU/TKO Motorsports for the final playoff spot. Playoff seeding and the final E-League playoff spot is going to be decided by final games of the regular season.

If Battle Born wins their last game they will secure the E-League regular season title and number one seed in the playoffs. If they lose their last game and Trash Pandas wins their last game, Trash Pandas will secure the E-League regular season title and number one seed in the playoffs. If Battle Born lose their last game and Trash Pandas loses their last game in a shootout they will tie for first place. The winner on tie breakers will secure the E-League regular season title and number one seed in the playoffs. Bangarang could tie the Trash Pandas for second place with a Bangarang win and Trash Pandas loss. In that scenario whoever wins the tie breakers would get second place. If NPU/TKO Motorsports wins their last game and Bangarang loses their last game, NPU/TKO Motorsports will take third place. If Long Drink wins their last game and NPU/TKO Motorsports loses theirs Long Drink will tie NPU/TKO Motorsports for the last playoff spot. The winner on tie breakers will get the last playoff spot.

Secured Playoff Spot: Trash Pandas, Battle Born, Bangarang

Eliminated From Playoffs: Satans Gatekeepers
