Reno Pond Hockey is getting ready for its fifth season in the Reno Ice Adult League. D-League did not play in the Fall 2022 season but has returned for the Winter 2022/23 season. Expectations are as high for Reno Pond Hockey. Last season they made it to the championship game just to come up short. This season the Slappy Gilmores are no longer in the league. The team that stood in the way of Reno Pond Hockey is no longer here. All eyes in the league are on Reno Pond Hockey. Reno Pond Hockey is now seen as the team to beat going into the season. Reno Pond Hockey are trying to build and improve on what they did last season. It wasn’t an accident that they were in championship. They want to get back to that. They are hungry to prove that they can win a championship. Reno Pond Hockey is setting high expectations for themselves. They are also trying to manage that with a changing and evolving roster. Will Reno Pond Hockey play competitively? Absolutely. Will Reno Pond Hockey make the playoffs? Yes. Every team has a 66% chance of making the playoffs right out of the gate. I’d say Reno Pond hockeys chances are closer to 90%. Will Reno Pond Hockey make the championship game? There is a good chance but we do not want to get ahead of ourselves. The focus right now is winning each game and not looking ahead. There is a lot for our organization and fans to be excited for this season. It is going to be a lot of fun.


Reno Pond Hockeys joined the Reno Ice Adult League as a founding member for the Summer 2021 season. Reno Pond Hockey was one of the original RIAL teams. Reno Pond Hockey played its first three seasons in B-League. In the summer of 2022, the RIAL restructured and Reno Pond Hockey was sent down to D-League. Reno Pond Hockey has made the playoffs twice. Reno Pond Hockey has made the championship game once.
Last season Reno Pond Hockey finished the regular season in second place. They had a record of 6-4-0. They had the third most goals in the league with 38. They had the second least goals allowed with 32. In the playoffs, they made it to the championship game.

Reno Pond Hockey has made a lot of roster changes between the summer and winter seasons. Twelve players are no longer playing for Reno Pond Hockey. Eight new players have joined the team. Some of the Summer subs have decided to play full-time. Some of the full-time players have decided to be subs. Some of the players have been sent down from C-League. Some of the players have been called up from E-League. Some of the new players are D-League free agents. There was a lot of movement to fill empty roster spots. The biggest roster change is in net. #35 Clint McCoy has decided to move up to B-League. #40 Justin Farmer will be the starting goal tender this season.

Below is what our schedule looks like. There are six teams again in D-League. The top four will make the playoffs. There will be ten regular season games. Reno Pond Hockey will play every other team twice.


To start the season Reno Pond Hockey will play the Jurassic Pucks. They are a new team this season. They are taking the spot formaly held by the Slappy Gilmores. Reno Pond Hockey will play the Jurassic Pucks on December 14th at 10:45pm and on February 1st at 9:15pm.

The Dough Boys are now the Nevada Police Foundation. Reno Pond Hockey will play the Nevada Police Foundation on Dec. 21st at 9:15pm and on Feb. 11th at 9:00pm. The Nevada Police Foundation came in last place in the RIAL Summer 2022 season.
Reno Pond Hockey’s all-time record against the Nevada Police Foundation (formerly Dough Boys) is 2-1-0. Reno Pond Hockey has scored 12 goals but has allowed 13 goals against the Nevada Police Foundation dating back to the RIAL Summer 2021 season. Last season Reno Pond Hockey had a record of 2-0-0 against the Nevada Police Foundation. Reno Pond Hockey scored 9 goals while allowing 3. They last played on July 20th, 2022 with Reno Pond Hockey taking a 6-1 win.

Reno Pond Hockey will play The Guardians on Jan. 6th at 9:15pm, and Feb. 13th at 10:15pm. The Guardians finished last season in 4th place securing the last playoff spot.

Reno Pond Hockey takes on Mid-Ice Crisis on Jan. 11th at 10:45pm and on Mar. 1st at 9:15pm. Mid-Ice Crisis came in 3rd place last season.
