With two to four games remaining for Reno Ice Adult League teams in the RIAL Winter 2022/23 Regular season we take another look at the RIAL Winter 2022/23 Playoffs. Nothing is set in the A-League and everyone is fighting hard for every point. In the B-League one team has secured a playoff spot while the rest of the league is still looking to secure theirs. In the D-League one secured a playoff spot while two other teams are one win away.
The playoffs will start on March 6th, 2023. The top four teams in each league get in.

In the A-League, none of the teams have secured a playoff spot yet. None of the A-League teams have been eliminated from playoff contention yet.
RT Janitorial is now one win away from securing a playoff spot. They have to win one of their remaining three games. The Mustangs are two wins away from securing a playoff spot. They have to win two of their remaining three games. The Reno Gamblers are three wins away from securing a playoff spot. They have to win three of their remaining four games. Whisky Dekes and the GBB Tooth Fairies are both four wins away from securing a playoff spot. They would both have to win all four of their remaining games to secure a playoff spot.
All of the A-League teams are within three wins of each other. With three to four games remaining for each team, The A-League playoffs could be shaken up dramatically. At this point, it does not seem likely that the Reno Gamblers, Whisky Dekes, or GBB Tooth Fairies will get six wins. RT Janitorial is probably already in the playoffs. One more win or an overtime loss would probably push the Mustangs into the playoffs. The Reno Gamblers, Whisky Dekes, and GBB Tooth Fairies will probably be fighting it out the rest of the season for the last two playoff spots.
If the playoffs started today RT Janitorial would play Whisky Dekes in the semifinals. The other semifinal matchup would be the Mustangs and the Reno Gamblers.
In the A-League, RT Janitorial is still the front-runner in the regular season title race. They lead with ten points (four wins). The Mustangs are only two points (one win) from tying RT Janitorial for that first-place spot. The Reno Gamblers are four points (two wins) from tying for the first-place spot. Whisky Dekes are five points away (two wins and an overtime loss) from tying for the first-place spot. The GBB Tooth Fairies who are in last place right now are six point (three wins) away from tying for the first-place spot. All five of the A-League teams are still in the title race with three or four (maybe five) games left in the regular season.

In the B-League, Cruz Construction is the first team to secure a playoff birth. None of the B-League teams have been eliminated from playoff contention yet.
The Tahoe Storm are one win away from securing a playoff spot. They have to win one of their last four games. The Tahoe Dawgs remain two wins away from securing a playoff spot. They have to win two of their last three games. 4 seasons are three wins away from a playoff spot. They have to win all of their remaining games to get to six wins. Carson City Hyundai and Silver State Wire cannot win six games this season. Carson City Hyundai is two wins from tying for the last playoff spot. They would have to win two of their remaining four games just to tie for the last playoff spot as things stand. Silver State wire is three wins away from tying for the last playoff spot. They would have to win three of their last four games to tie for the last playoff spot.
If the playoffs started today Cruz Construction would play 4 Seasons in the semifinals. The other semifinal game would see the Tahoe Storm face the Tahoe Dawgs.
In the B-League, Cruz Construction leads the regular season title race. They lead with 14 points (seven wins). The Tahoe Storm is four points (two wins) away from tying for first place. The Tahoe Dawgs are six points away from tying for first place. They would have to win all of their remaining games just to tie. 4 Seasons and Carson City Hyundai are no longer in the regular season title race. Silver State Wire was already out of the regular season title race.

The Guardians and Mid-Ice Crisis are still one win away from securing a playoff spot. The Nevada Police Foundation is four wins away from securing a playoff spot. They would have to win all of their remaining games to get six wins. The Jurassic Pucks and Grrrowlers can not get six wins but can still get into the playoffs. The Jurassic Pucks are only one shootout loss away from tying for the last playoff spot. The Grrrowlers are one win away from tying for the last playoff spot.
If the playoffs started today Reno Pond Hockey would play the Nevada Police Foundation in the semifinals. The other semifinal game would be between The Guardians and Mid-Ice Crisis.
In the D-League, Reno Pond Hockey leads the regular season title race. They lead with twelve points (six wins). The Guardians are only behind by one point (a shootout loss). Mid-Ice Crisis is two points (one win) away from tying for first place. The Nevada Police Foundation, the Jurassic Pucks and the Grrrowlers are no longer in contention for the D-League regular season title. While the Nevada Police Foundation could tie for first place as things are, if Reno Pond Hockey or The Guardians win one more game, the Nevada Police Foundation will be unable to catch up. Reno Pond Hockey and The Guardians play on Monday so one of them has to win thus the Nevada Police Foundation doesn’t even have a chance to tie for first place.
