Reno Pond Hockey made it 3-0 with 11′ minutes to go in the first period. #96 Robbie Janas passed the puck to #69 Chad Payne. Chad drew in three defenders as he passed the puck to #13 Kevin Lee. Kevin found the back of the net with his shot.

Reno Pond Hockey would go up by five with one minute and thirty seconds to go in the first period. #13 Kevin Lee carried the puck into the offensive zone. His shot was steered away by the goalkeeper. #69 Chad Payne would get the puck along the boards. Chad’s shot would find the back of the net to complete the hat trick. Reno Pond Hockey had a 5-0 lead after the first period.

Reno Pond Hockey scored their sixth goal 5′ minutes into the second period. #45 Brian Janas would shoot the puck. #96 Robbie Janas would get the puck to #69 Chad Payne who found the back of the net for his fourth goal of the night.

Reno Pond Hockey scored their seventh goal of the night with 13′ minutes to go in the second period. #9 Tristan McKnight carried the puck along the boards from behind the net. He drew in three defenders. He passed the puck to #72 Mitch Costa who went backhand to score.

The final goal of the game came with 7′ minutes to go. #72 Mitch Costa would shoot the puck. It would get deflected in traffic, #96 Robbie Janas would get the rebound and score. The game would end in a 10-0 Reno Pond Hockey Victory.

For only the second time in six seasons, Reno Pond Hockey won their season opener. After this game, they were still undefeated against Q & D Construction. They still hadn’t lost a game in 2023. They also bumped their all-time winning streak up to 12 games. Reno Pond Hockey was just the better team in this game. They out skated them. They were keeping the puck in the offensive zone. They weren’t letting Q & D Construction do anything on offensive. Despite all of that a lot of this game was played in the neutral zone. Reno Pond Hockey was on fire with everyone being in the right place at the right time. Q & D Construction was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. It was a great start to the season.
