Heading into six five of the Western Conference Finals the Vegas Golden Knights had a 3-2 lead over the Dallas Stars. The Golden Knights won game one 4-3 in overtime, the won game two 3-2 in overtime, and they won game three 4-0. The Stars won game four 3-2 in overtime and game five 4-2. Game six started with an early Golden Knights goal. William Carrier scored the goal for the Golden Knights. William Karlsson scored on the powerplay. His goal added to the Golden Knights lead. Keegan Kolesar scored to put the Golden Knights up by three goals. The score was 3-0 Golden Knights after the first period.

Jonathan Marchessault scored the only goal of the second period. His goal gave the Golden Knights a four goal lead. The score was 4-0 Golden Knights after two periods.

William Karlsson scored again early in the third period. Michael Amadio scored for the Golden Knights as well. The final score was 6-0 Golden Knights. The Vegas Golden Knights have won their series over the Dallas Stars 4-2. The Vegas Golden Knights are now the Western Conference Champions. The Vegas Golden Knights have advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Dallas Stars have been eliminated.

This is the second shutout Vegas had in this series. It is also the second game in this series that Vegas dominated. There was a lot of talk after the game five loss that Vegas was going to choke. There was even a lot of talk of the Golden Knights not winning game six on the day of the game. Vegas came out in game six on a mission. They scored early which is the way they wanted to start the game. They then built on their lead which is something that was missing from game four and five. In game four and five they were not able to keep or add to their leads. In game six they fixed that issue. For the second game in this series the Stars were no where to be found. This is the second game where they didn’t even score a goal. Facing elimination for the third game in a row and they didn’t show up. They didn’t fight for it. They did nothing to stop Vegas. The Stars just looked like garbage in this game.

The first two games of this series were close. They both went into overtime and could have gone either way. It’s the same thing with game four and game five. Those were both two more close games that could have gone either way. In Game three and game six the Stars didn’t show up. In their own barn too. Yes the Stars were able to force a game six but I think the game four and five results have more to do with the Golden Knights not being able to hold onto a lead or build on their leads than the Stars ability to win games. Goal tending also does not seem to be an issue for Vegas after this series. It was a large concern heading into the playoffs and has been hanging over them throughout the playoffs. The Golden Knights have just overcome it to the point where it is not an issue right now.

The Western Conference Champions Vegas Golden Knights will be taken on the Eastern Conference Champions Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final. That will begin this Saturday.
