The Reno Ice Adult League Spring 2023 season is now behind us. What an incredible season it was. The Reno Ice Adult League Summer 2023 season has already started. It’s time for a review of Reno Pond Hockey’s sixth season in the Reno Ice Adult League. It was a the best follow up to Reno Pond Hockeys Winter 2022/23 season we could have hoped for.
Reno Pond hockey made got second place and made the Championship game during the RIAL Summer 2022 D-League season. They Finished the RIAL Winter 2022/23 D-League season with a record of 9-1-0. With that record they won the regular season title. They had the number one seed going into the playoffs. They beat the Jurassic Pucks 8-3 in the semifinals. That would give Reno Pond Hockey back to back championship game births. They beat Mid-Ice Crisis 4-1 to win the RIAL Winter 2022/23 D-League Championship. That was their first championship. That had been the best season for Reno Pond Hockey up to that point. It was a great follow up to a soild Summer 2022 season.
There wasn’t much of an off season. Reno Pond Hockey was able to add a couple of extra players but by the end of March they were back playing again.
Reno Pond Hockey had an incredible regular season. For the first time every they went undefeated. They started off the season with a 10-0 win over Q & D Construction. They followed that up with an 11-0 win over the Reno Fire Hosers D. Then they beat Mid-Ice Crisis 8-2 in a championship game rematch. Then they beat the Grrrowlers 9-1. In their first close game of the season they beat the Nevada Police Foundation 4-2. Then they beat the Guardians 8-1. Then they beat the Jurassic Pucks 7-3. Then they beat Q & D Construction 7-1. Then they beat the Reno Fire Hosers 8-2. They finished the regular season with only their second close game of the season beating the Jurassic Pucks 4-2.
After going undefeated in the regular season Reno Pond Hockey won twenty two straight games going back to the Winter 2022/23 season. This is was the second season in a row Reno Pond Hockey won the regular season title.
Reno Pond Hockey defeated the Jurassic Pucks 6-1 in the semifinals. This was the same semifinal matchup as the Winter 2022/23 season matchup. With the win Reno Pond Hockey clinched their third championship game birth in a row.
Reno Pond Hockey played the Guardians in the RIAL Spring 2023 Championship game. Reno Pond Hockey won the game 3-1. That was the closest game all season. With the win Reno Pond Hockey won the RIAL Spring 2023 D-League Championship. This was Reno Pond Hockey’s twenty third win in a row. Reno Pond Hockey has won back to back regular season titles and championships.
