I’m here today with the more team concepts for my FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Ice Hockey Concept series. In todays post I will be showing off the concepts for Group B. In my last post I showed off my concepts for Group A. Australia, Canada, Nigeria, and the Republic of Ireland make up Group B. Australia have the 33rd ranked women’s ice hockey team in the world. Canada has the number one raked women’s ice hockey team. Nigeria does not have an ice hockey program. The Republic of Ireland are currently unranked but are an IIHF member.

In Group B are Australia, Canada, Nigeria, and the Republic of Ireland. Australia and Canada have women’s ice hockey. Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland do not. For this concept Nigeria would have something like the NWFL Premiership but for women’s ice hockey. For the Republic of Ireland they would have a women’s league in partnership with the Irish Ice Hockey League for this concept.

Australia is the other host country with New Zealand. They are sponsored by Nike. I recolored their logos to match what is seen on their jerseys. Their colors are green and yellow but they added dark blue, light blue, and tan for their 2023 uniforms. They have a yellow jersey and light blue jersey. The Yellow jersey has a marbled pattern on it. On the collars are AU NZ 2023 because they are the hosts. The Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) is the top women’s ice hockey league in Australia.

Canada is sponsored by Nike. Their colors are red, white, and black. I did modify their logo. I got rid of the soccer ball on the logo. It is the same logo I used for my FIFA World Cup 2022 Ice Hockey concept. I also added a black outline to one of the logos because it’s like that on one of the jerseys. They have a red jersey and a white jersey. The red jersey has a geometric pattern on it. On the collar is 1912 for when the Canada Soccer was founded. The top level of women’s pro hockey in North America folded in 2023 to create a new league in partnership with the National Hockey League. However there are plenty of semiprofessional women’s ice hockey leagues in North America.

Nigeria are sponsored by Nike. Their colors are green, red, white, and black. I did modify their logo. I removed the soccer ball, made the bird bigger, and replaced “Nigeria Football Association” with “Nigeria Hockey Association”. They have a green jersey and a black jersey. On the green jerseys are “tribal patterns”. The black jersey has a pattern inspired by traditional prints. On their collar is 1945 for when the Nigeria Football Federation was founded. Nigeria does not have much ice hockey. For this concept their women’s ice hockey league would be similar to the NWFL Premiership. From what I can tell teams would qualify from around the country for a tournament that has a group stage and a knock out stage.

The Republic of Ireland are sponsored by Castore. For this concept the Castore jersey are made in partnership with SP Apparel. The Republic of Ireland colors are green, orange, and white. I did modify their logo. I replaced the word football with the word hockey on their logo. They have a green jersey and a white jersey. They both have stripes on the front. On the collar is Eire. The Republic of Ireland does not have a women’s ice hockey league. For this concept they would work in partnership with the Irish Ice Hockey League. There is not a lot of information on the internet about the format of the league so for this concept they would have the same format as the League of Ireland where there is a regular season and no post season. The winner of the regular season wins the league.

Here is what Group B looks like. The red Canada jerseys are my favorite. #1 ranked is Canada. #2 ranked is Ireland. #3 ranked is the Republic of Ireland. #4 ranked is Australia.
