In the first B-League Semifinal Carson City Hyundai played Cruz Construction. In the second B-League Semifinal game the Swift Institute played 4 Seasons. The RIAL Summer 2023 playoffs continue tonight with the C-League Semifinals. In the first C-League Semifinal the number one seed Slappy Gilmores will play the number four seed Blue Moon. In the second C-League Semifinal the number two seed Desert Dogs will play the number three seed Summer Shandies.
#1 Carson City Hyundai vs #3 Cruz Construction | B-League Semifinals
In the first Reno Ice Adult League Summer 2023 B-League Semifinal game the number one seed Carson City Hyundai played the number three seed Cruz Construction. Carson City Hyundai won their only regular season meeting. Carson City Hyundai won four of their last five games. Cruz Construction won four of their last five games. Carson City Hyundai were eliminated in the Semifinals last season. Cruz Construction lost in the B-League Championship game last season.
Something got messed up here. Cruz Construction came in third in the league standings on the RIAL website. Therefore they should be the third seed and should have played in the third seed verses second seed game. Instead they ended up playing in the first verses fourth seed game. I don’t exactly know what happened here. Either the standings on the league website were wrong (highly likely) or everyone thought Cruz Construction finished in fourth place. Either way I am just going to roll with it.
The score was tied at 1-1 after the first period. The score was tied at 3-3 going into the third period. The final score was 6-3 Cruz Construction. This is the second upset of the RIAL Summer 2023 Playoffs. Cruz Construction have advanced to the RIAL Summer 2023 B-League Championship game.
