The 2023 USA Archery Nevada State Outdoor Championship an outdoor event. It is similar to the Olympics. There will be a seventy-two arrow round on Saturday, October 21st. There will be elimination rounds on Sunday, October 22nd. Compound bow archers will shoot between fifteen meters and fifty meters. Recurve archers will shoot between fifteen meters and seventy meters. Seventy meters is what archers shoot in the Olympics. The Youth age classes are under 12 (bowman), under 14 (cub), under 17 (cadet), under 20 (junior). The adult age classes start off with Senior. The Senior category is supposed to be the main adult category. However, I think anyone over the age of fourteen can compete in the Senior class. There is also the Master and Sr. Master classes but I don’t know what the ages are for those.

In the Olympics archers shoot Olympic recurve bows. Those are specialized bows designed for Olympic competitions. However, there are multiple other types of bows outside of what is seen at the Olympics. For the 2023 USA Archery Nevada State Outdoor Championship archers can use recurve bows, barebow’s, or compound bows. Archers using recurve bows are basically like the Olympics. It’s a recurve bow like what is seen in the Olympics with rules on what can or can not be attached to the bow. Barebow’s are both recurve and compound bows with no attachments. Then compound bows are hunting bows.

Basically, the way the 2023 USA Archery Nevada State Outdoor Championship works is that on day one everyone shoots, and then on day two are eliminations. I don’t know all of the info on the elimination rounds. I do know that it will depend on each category. Some groups will not have eliminations. I know some of the youth divisions won’t and other catigories wont depending on how many archers their are. The top three archers in each category will receive a metal.

I did attend the 2021 USA Archery Nevada State Outdoor Championship. That event was held just outside of the state capital, Carson City Nevada. This event is being held about thirty minutes from downtown Reno. Why am I talking about this? I am helping organize this event. I am sponsoring the event. I will be live-streaming the event. There hasn’t been a lot of coverage in the past but we are trying to change that.
