Today is the fourteenth day of Conceptober. Todays prompt was to create a jersey concept for a fictional team. Like with the school team concept there is lot of options. Basically being a fictional team there are infinite options. Whatever I can create can will count as a fictional team. I decided not to go the route of creating my own team but picking a team. I decided to do a fictional team from the wikipedia list of fictional ice hockey teams. I know the list is probably incomplete. That also means that any fictional team that did not appear in a movie or on TV was not considered for this.
Again I used the Wheel of Names to pick a team for this concept. There was a total of seventy five options. The winner ended up being the Quebec Victoires from the movie Goon. The english translation of the name is Quebec Victories. They play in the Eastern Maritime Hockey League. There are fifteen teams in the league. The Quebec Victoires are known for having a giant Quebec flag in their arena. In the movie, the Quebec Victoires play a big role as the top player for the Highlanders (the team of the protagonist) used to play for Quebec and is seen as a trader. In the scene with the Quebec Victoires, the top player for the Highlanders is knocked out causing one of the most brutal scenes in the movie.
I started with new logos as I did not like the logo seen in the movie. Their colors are blue, gold, and white. The sleeve striping is angled to create a V. The jersey is also partailly inspired by the old Quebec Nordiques jerseys. On the front is the new logo. It is a v with wings and a fluer de lis. It has all of the same elements as the old logo. It just looks better. On the Shoulders are the fluer de lis. The league logo is also on the front of the jersey.
