Today is the seventeenth day of Conceptober. Todays prompt is to create a jersey concept for my favorite team. I have favorite teams in pretty much every league. To keep it simple I stuck with the National Hockey League. My favorite NHL team are the Pittsburgh Penguins. My overall favorite team are the Bakersfield Condors. I also have a sweet spot for the Arizona Coyotes because I used to live there. Since the Edmonton Oilers bought the Bakersfield Condors and are basically all the same players I follow the Oilers too. I also follow the Vegas Golden Knights as they are basically the Nevada team.
For this Pittsburgh Penguins concept I created a jersey that is basically something I have wanted to see from them for a long time. I am glad they went back to their traditional back and gold colors instead of the black and Vegas gold they had for many years. I do like the black and Vegas gold though. I think they should bring it back as their alternate colors. They made it to the cup four times plus won it three times during the Vegas gold years. The design of the jersey is inspired by their jerseys from 1992 to 2007. The logo on the front was used as an alternate logo from 2003 to 2007. It is a recolored version of the robo-penguin logo. It was never used on the front of a jersey from what I can tell. There is no shoulder logos on this jersey. In the end I designed a jersey that I have wanted to see for a while now but I don’t think the Vegas gold will ever return to Pittsburgh.
