Like I said in my last five posts, I am super behind on Conceptober. The prompt on the 24th was to create a jersey concept for a team that is outside of North America. They decided to call it a Eurasian Team. There are a lot of teams and leagues outside of North America. I think everywhere but Africa and South America have some kind of league that is on the same scale as at least the ECHL. Majority of leagues outside of the United States are in Europe. Ice Hockey Leagues have been in Europe as long as they have been in North America. The rest of the world has struggled to come up with ice hockey leagues until relatively recently.

I used the wheel of names again to pick a team for this concept. I stuck with the list of leagues on HockeyDB. I only did European Elite and European Non-Elite Leagues. I also only picked from leagues that had a 2023-24 season. I did not include the Champions Hockey League or any Russian league. The winner of the first spin was the Alps Hockey League. Of the sixteen Alps Hockey League teams, EC Kitzbuhel won the spin.

The EC Kitzbuhel colors are blue, white, yellow, and red. They use Warrior Hockey jerseys. A lot of teams in Europe use the Warrior jerseys but Warrior has not made hockey jerseys for the North American market in a long time. I think their parent company, New Balance wanted to shift jerseys from Warrior to New Balance. I made a blue jersey for EC Kitzbuhel. They seem to use two blue jerseys and a white jersey. They have a million sponsors which I did not add to my concept. They also seem not to use their logo on the jersey. Instead they use the space for more sponsors. I designed the jersey to look like something a European team would wear. On the front is their logo.

The Alps Hockey League is made up of teams from Australia, Italy, and Slovenia. The league was created in 2016 with a merger between teams from Italian Hockey League Seria A and the Inter-National League (Austria/Slovenia). The Italian Hockey League Seria A is still around. The Alps Hockey League has sixteen teams. It looks like the teams play around thirty games with some kind of playoffs.

EC Kitzbuhel was founded in 1910. They are from Kitzbuhel, Austria. They play in the 1,700 capacity Sportpark Kapserbrücke. In 1965 they made it to the top Austrian league. In 1973 the club was relegated from the top Austrian league. in 2014 they joined the Inter-National League which merged to become the Alps Hockey League. The won the ASKÖ-Staatsliga in 1949, 1952 and 1954. They won the Austrian Oberliga in 1976, 1996, 2004, and 2005. They were the Nationale Amateur Hockey Liga champions in 2014. They have only made the playoffs twice in the Alps Hockey League losing both times in the first round. They did make the playoffs last season. Their best season was last season where they won twenty one games with sixty six points. The highest they have ever finished in the regular season has been fourth place.
