I am still behind on Conceptober. The prompt on the 29th was to create a jersey concept for an expansion team. Basically the idea is to come up with a new team. There has been consistant talk and rumors throughout the expansion era ever since the 1967 expansion. It seems like every year now there is some rumor of a new team or a team being relocated.
I used the wheel of names again to pick a team for this concept. I took all of the North American cities that already have teams in Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, and Major League Soccer that did not have a National Hockey League team to come up with an expansion city. Of those twenty nine cities San Diego ended up being the winner.

The name I came up with was the San Diego Armada. Named after the cities ties with the United States Navy. Honestly though I think any future National Hockey League team in San Diego should still be named the San Diego Gulls. The colors are the same as the old San Diego Gulls and San Diego Mariners of the World Hockey Association. Their logo is a campus with an A shape.

The San Diego Armada jerseys is blue, white, and orange and is inspired by the San Diego Mariners jersey. On the front is their primary logo.
