The National Basketball League All-Star game will be on Sunday, February 18th, 2024. They have released what the jerseys will look like. They also have released what the court will look like. The 2024 NBA all star game will be held in Indianapolis Indiana. NBA All-Star weekend will be hosted by the Gainbridge Fieldhouse which is the home of the Indiana Pacers and Lucas Oil Stadium which is the home of the Indianapolis Colts. This is the second time the NBA All-Star game has been in Indianapolis.
Looking at the logo it is in the Indiana Pacers colors. On the top is the event name and year. On the bottom is the event location with a star design. Next tot the all-star designs is the NBA logo. The NBA has been using this logo layout for the NBA all-star game since the 2017-18 season. I am not a big fan of the current layout. I liked it better when the logo was completely different from year to year. My favorite NBA All-Star logo is still the 2016 NBA All-Star alternate logo that looks like a beanie.

The jerseys are red, tan, and blue or blue, tan and red. They have two shades of either red or blue that make up a pinstripe pattern. They have a star design with and All-Star wordmark on the front. Red versus blue is always a good choice. The design here has a throwback feel to it. I think the pin stripes and tan have a lot to do with that. They are a lot better than the NHL All-Star jerseys we got this year.

The court design has also been released. I do like. I almost always like when teams use different shades on the court. I like this a lot more than the NBA tournament courts we got earlier this season. The only think I am not huge on is the stars on each side of the court. I think they would have looked better on the outside of the court or around the three point line. They put an almost identical court in the airport in Indianapolis. The jokes about people wanting to play on it were crazy.
Last year during the NBA playoffs I was telling my friends that the NBA should have LED courts. I saw the first one Nike made in 2014. Since then I have always thought it would improve the production of any basketball game to have an LED court. Not just for pregame or halftime or postgame but for in game graphics. If a player hits a three it could be shown on the court. The shot clock could be on the court. The possibility with videos and graphics on an LED court have always been interesting to me. Teams would no longer need entirely different courts for alternate court designs. A team could switch up the court design during a game. A team could practice on another teams court without traveling. A coach could draw up a play and put it on the court during practice. The possibilities are endless. The pushback of course being it is not wood.

Part of the festivities including the LED court will be at Lucas Oil Stadium. They are going to split the stadium into two parts. One part with the basketball. One part with a stage and live performances. I think the whole event should take place here. I don’t think they should have split the stadium. I think they could have sone something like they did for the NCAA basketball Final Four back in 2021.

The NBA also released the jerseys for the rising stars tournament that is part of the NBA All-Star event. They have a yellow jersey, a red jersey, a blue jersey and a white jersey. They all seem fairly basic. Not bad. I would have liked to see more of a throwback aesthetic with these. Just to match the NBA All-Star jerseys more.
