#9 Northwestern vs #8 Florida Atlantic – Florida Atlantic had a one point lead at halftime. The score was 20-19 going into the second half. Northwestern had a one point lead with around five minutes left in the game. Northwestern held onto their one point lead with a minute left in the game. Florida Atlantic took a two point lead late in the game and Northwestern tied the game. The game went into overtime. In overtime Northwestern built up a fourteen point lead. #14 Colgate vs #3 Baylor – Baylor had a twenty point lead at halftime . The score was 54-34 Baylor. Baylor still had a twenty point lead with five minutes left in the game. With around a minute left in the game Baylor had a twenty two point lead. The final score was 92-67 Baylor. Baylor dominated this game and as a result will be moving on to the Second Round. After this game Baylor was waiting to see if they would play #6 Clemson or #11 New Mexico.
#12 UAB vs #5 San Diego State – San Diego State had a six point lead at halftime. The score was 29-35 San Diego State. UAB had a one point lead with five minutes to go. San Diego had a four point lead with under five seconds left in the game. UAB missed a free throw that would have cut the lead to three with a few seconds on the clock. San Diego State won the game 69-65. San Diego has advanced to the Second Round. Of the six Mountain West Conference teams they were the first team to advance. After this game #5 San Diego State was waiting if they would play #4 Auburn or #13 Yale in the Second Round.
#15 Western Kentucky vs #2 Marquette – Western Kentucky had a seven point lead at halftime. Marquette had a ten point lead with five minutes left in the game. Marquette had a twenty point lead with a minute to go in the game. The final score was 69-87 Marquette. Marquette put up fifty one points in the second half to win the game. They dominated the second half to complete the comeback. Marquette has advanced to the Second Round. Marquette would either plat #7 Florida or #10 Colorado in the Second Round.
#16 Stetson vs #1 UConn – UConn had a thirty three point lead at halftime. With five minutes left in the game UConn had a thirty nine point lead with five minutes left in the game. UConn had a thirty eight point lead with just over a minute to go. The final score was 91-52 UConn. UConn dominated this game. It is a huge statement for them to win their first game like this. UConn advanced to the Second Round. Stetson has been eliminated. #1 UConn will play #9 Northwestern in the Second Round.
#11 New Mexico vs #6 Clemson – Clemson had a fourteen point lead at halftime. With four minutes to go Clemson had a twenty point lead. Clemson had a twenty two point lead with just under a minute to go. The final score was 77-56 Clemson. Clemson advanced to the Second Round. New Mexico was eliminated as another Mountain West Conference team fails to win a game in March Madness. #6 Clemson will play #3 Baylor in the Second Round.
#13 Yale vs #4 Auburn – Auburn had a seven point lead at halftime. With five minutes to go Auburn had a six point lead. Yale was able to tie the game with two minutes left in the game. Yale had a four point lead with only fourteen seconds left in the game. Auburn cut the lead down to two points but a block and a missed three point shot let Yale hold on for the upset. Yale won the game 78-76 and advanced to the Second Round. #13 Yale will play #5 San Diego State in the Second Round.
#10 Colorado vs #7 Florida – Colorado had a three point lead at halftime. With five minutes left Colorado had a eleven point lead. With a minute left in the game Colorado had a four point lead. Florida tied the game with nine seconds left in the game. Colorado scored the game winning shot with one second left in the game. The final score was 102-100 Colorado. This game saw a lot of scoring. Florida almost completed the comeback. Colorado got the upset they were looking for. Colorado advanced to the Second Round. Florida have been eliminated. #10 Colorado will play #2 Marquette in the Second Round.
#9 Nebraska vs #8 Texas A&M – Texas A&M had a fourteen point lead at halftime. They almost scored sixty points in the first half. The score was 58-44 Texas A&M going into the second half. With five minutes to go in the game Texas A&M had a twenty two point lead. With a minute to go Texas A&M had a seventeen point lead. Texas A&M held onto their lead to win the game 98-83. #16 Grambling State vs #1 Purdue – Purdue had a nine point lead at halftime. The score was 36-27 Purdue going into the second half. With five minutes to go Purdue had a twenty three point lead. With just under a minute to go in the game Purdue had a twenty five point lead. Purdue won the game 78-50 and advanced to the Second Round. After this game Purdue was waiting to see if they would play #8 Utah State or #9 TCU.

#12 James Madison vs #5 Wisconsin – James Madison had a thirteen point lead at halftime. The score was 33-20 Wisconsin going into the second half. James Madison held onto their lead to win the game 72-61. This was a solid upset for James Madison.
