The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued yesterday with only one game. The Boston Bruins took on the Toronto Maple Leafs in game six of their first round series. There was a lot of drama surrounding that game. Tonight there are two games. The Vancouver Canucks take on the Nashville Predators for game six of that series. The Dallas Stars take on the Vegas Golden Knights in game six of that series. There should be plenty of drama and action tonight.

The Boston Bruins took on the Toronto Maple Leafs in game six of their first round series. The Bruins were leading the series 3-1 going into the game. This was the Bruins second chance to eliminate the Maple Leafs. If the Bruins won they would advance to the second round. If the Maple Leafs won they would force game seven. This game was in Toronto. Neither team scored in the first period. The score was tied at 0-0 going into the second period.

Fifty five seconds into the second period, the Maple Leafs took the lead. #88 William Nylander scored the goal that gave the Maple Leafs the lead. His goal was assisted by #37 Timothy Liljegren and #44 Morgan Rielly. The Maple Leafs had a 1-0 lead heading into the third period.

With one second left in the game, #39 Morgan Geekie scored for the Bruins. His goal was assisted by #12 Kevin Shattenkirk and #21 James Van Riemsdyk. The final score was 2-1 Maple Leafs. The series is now tied at 3-3.

The Maple Leafs were able to hold onto their two goal lead and win the game. The Bruins almost were shutout. This was the worst performance from the Bruins so far in this series. The Maple Leafs were able to force a game seven. If the Maple Leafs win game seven, it will be the first time since 1959 that they defeat the Bruins in the playoffs. If the Bruins lose it will be the first time ever that a team in the NHL, MLB, or NBA has lost a playoff series in back to back seasons after going up 3-1. If the Bruins win, it will be the seventh playoff series in a row between these two teams that the Bruins have won. Either way history will be made.

Game seven of this series will be on Saturday, May 4th. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:00 PM. That game will be in Boston.

The Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Islanders, Winnipeg Jets, and Los Angeles Kings have been eliminated from the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche, and Edmonton Oilers have advanced to the second round.
