The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued yesterday with two games. The Vancouver Canucks took on the Nashville Predators in game six of their first round series. The Dallas Stars took on the Vegas Golden Knights in game six of their first round series. The Predators and the Golden. Knights were facing elimination. Tonight is another historic game seven between the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The winner of that game will advance to round two while the other team will be eliminated.

The Vancouver Canucks took on the Nashville Predators in game six of their first round series. The Canucks were leading the series 3-2 heading into the game. If the Canucks won, they would eliminate the Predators. If the Predators won they would force a game seven. This game was in Nashville. Neither team scored in the first period. The score was tied at 0-0 after the first period.
No one scored in the second period either. The score was still tied at 0-0 going into the final period. #24 Pius Suter scored for the Canucks with under two minutes left in the game. His goal was assisted by #6 Brock Boeser and #40 Elias Pettersson. The final score was 1-0 Canucks. The Vancouver Canucks won this series 4-2. The Nashville Predators have been eliminated from the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.


The Canucks scored late and held onto their lead to win the game. This was the fourth game in a row in this series that was won by one goal. Vancouver just had the edge in this series. Both team traded wins in the first two games before the Canucks won back to back. Then the Predators forced game six. Game six came down to the wire but the Canucks found a way to score while the Predators did not.
The Vancouver Canucks will play the Edmonton Oilers in the second round.

The Dallas Stars took on the Vegas Golden Knights in game six of their first one series. The Stars were leading the series 3-2. If the Stars won, they would eliminate the Golden Knights. If the Golden Knights won, they would force game seven. This game was in Las Vegas. Neither team scored in the first period. The score was tied at 0-0 after the first period.
No one scored in the second period either. The score was still tied at 0-0 going into the third period. #15 Noah Hanifin scored to give the Golden Knights the lead halfway through the third period. His goal was unassisted. With nineteen seconds left in the game, Mark Stone scored an empty net goal for the Golden Knights. His goal would put the game out of reach for the Stars. It was assisted by #71 William Karlsson and #7 Alex Pietrangelo. The final score was 2-0 Golden Knights. The series is now tied at 3-3.


This game played out almost the same way as the Canucks game. No one scored for two periods, then the Golden Knights scored and didn’t give up their lead. The series is now tied as it heads back to Dallas. The winner will advance.
Game seven will be on Sunday, May 5th at 4:30 PM. The game will be in Dallas.

Will the Bruins be eliminated in the first round back to back playoffs after leading 3-1? Will the Maple Leafs make history by completing the comeback in this series and defeating the Bruins in the playoffs for the first time since 1959?
