The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued yesterday with two games. The New York Rangers took on the Carolina Hurricanes in game three of their second round series. The Rangers were leading that series. The Dallas Stars played the Colorado Avalanche in game two of that series. The Avalanche were leading that series. There are two games going on tonight. The Florida Panthers are playing the Boston Bruins in game three of that series. That series is tied at 1-1. The Vancouver Canucks play the Edmonton Oilers in game two go that series. The Canucks lead that series 1-0.

The New York Rangers played the Carolina Hurricanes in game three of their second round series. The Rangers were leading the series 2-0 going into the game. This game was in Carolina. Halfway through the first period, #59 Jake Guentzel scored for the Hurricanes. His goal was assisted by #7 Dmitry Orlov and #37 Andrei Svechnikov. The score was 1-0 Hurricanes after the first period.
Halfway through the second period, #20 Chris Kreider scored to tie the game for the Rangers. His goal was assisted by #93 Mika Zibanejad. The score was tied at 1-1 going into the third period.
With thirteen minutes left in the third period, #13 Alexis Lafrenière scored to give the Rangers the lead. His goal was assisted by #10 Artemi Panarin and #16 Vincent Trocheck. With under two minutes to go in the third period, #37 Andrei Svechnikov scored for the Hurricanes to tie the game. His goal was assisted by #20 Sabastian Aho and #76 Brady Skjei. The score was tied at 2-2 at the end of the third period. The game would go into overtime.
Less than two minutes into overtime, #10 Artemi Panarin scored to win the game for the Rangers. His goal was assisted by #16 Vincent Trocheck and #13 Alexis Lafrenière. The final score was 3-2 Rangers. The New York Rangers now have a 3-0 series lead.


The Rangers won a close game. Both teams had leads. Both teams lost their leads. It was anyones game when it went into overtime. The Hurricanes almost doubled the shots of the Rangers but they could not get the win. Now the Hurricanes are in danger of being swept. Every game in this series so far has been a one goal game. The Rangers just keep finding ways to win.

The Stars had a 1-0 lead going into the second period.
Two minutes into the second period, #24 Roope Hintz scored to give the Stars a two goal lead. His goal was assisted by #5 Nils Lundkvist and #27 Mason Marchment. With four minutes left in the second period, #4 Miro Heiskanen scored again to give the Stars a three goal lead. His goal was assisted by #14 Jamie Benn and #24 Roope Hintz. With under two minutes left in the second period, #91 Tyler Seguin scored for the Stars. His goal was assisted by #55 Thomas Harley. The score was 4-0 Stars going into the third period.
Five minutes into the third period, #94 Joel Kiviranta scored for the Avalanche. His goal was assisted by #24 Josh Manson and #20 Ross Colton. With twelve minutes left in the game, #12 Brandon Duhaime scored for the Avalanche. His goal was assisted by #11 Andrew Cogliano. With under four minutes left in the game #13 Valeri Nichushkin scored for the Avalanche to bring the lead back to one goal. His goal was assisted by #62 Artturi Lehkonen and #37 Casey Mittelstadt. With twenty one seconds to go in the game, #23 Esa Lindell scored to put the Stars back up by two goals. His goal was assisted by Roope Hintz and #3 Chris Tanev. The final score was 5-3 Stars. The series is now tied at 1-1.


The Stars went up big before the Avalanche got on the scoreboard. The Stars were able to hold onto their lead. The Avalanche went able to catch up. This has been a good series with plenty of goals. Both teams had crazy offensive bursts in this game. The series is now tied. The next game is in Colorado.
