The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued last night with one game. It was game thee of the Eastern Conference Finals. That series is between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers. That series was tied going into yesterdays game. There is one game happening tonight. Tonights game is game three of the Western Conference Finals. That series is between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers. That series is also tied up at 1-1. Things are really close in the Stanley Cup Playoffs right now.

The New York Rangers took on the Florida Panthers in game three of the Eastern Conference Finals. This series was tied at 1-1. The Panthers won game one 3-0. The Rangers won game two 2-1 in overtime. This game was in Florida. Three minutes into the game, #13 Sam Reinhart scored to give the Panthers the lead. His goal was assisted by #16 Alekander Barkov and #19 Matthew Tkachuk. Halfway through the first period, #13 Alexus Lafrenière scored for the Rangers to tie the game. His goal was assisted by #16 Vincent Trocheck and #8 Jacob Trouba. Thirty seconds later, the Rangers took the lead with a goal from #21 Barclay Goodrow. His goal was assisted by #4 Branden Schneider and #50 Will Cuylle. With five minutes left in the first period, #13 Sam Reinhart scored again to tie the game. His goal was assisted by #23 Carter Verharghe. The score was tied at 2-2 after the first period.
With four minutes left in the second period, #13 Alexus Lafrenière scored again to give the Rangers the lead. His goal was assisted by #79 K’Andre Miller and #8 Jacob Trouba. With under two minutes left in the second period, #21 Barclay Goodrow scored again to give the Rangers a two goal lead. His goal was assisted by #16 Vincent Trocheck and #55 Ryan Lindgren. The score was 4-2 Rangers going into the third period.
Six minutes into the third period, #16 Aleksander Barkov scored for the panthers to bring the lead down to one goal. His goal was assisted by #23 Carter Verhaeghe and #77 Niko Mikkola. Two minutes later, #42 Gustav Forsling scored for the Panthers to tie the game. His goal was assisted by #19 Matthew Tkachuk and #17 Evan Rodrigues. The score was 4-4 after the the third period. With the game tied, the Rangers and panthers would go to overtime for the second game in a row in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Six minutes into overtime, #91 Alex Wennberg scored to win the game for the Rangers. His goal was assisted by #55 Ryan Lindgren and #96 Jack Roslovic. The final score was 5-4 Rangers. The New York Rangers now have a 2-1 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.


After back to back overtimes this series is really getting close. In these close games the Rangers have had the edge. The Panthers have struggled to find or hold onto leads in game two and three. They have come close. Here in game three they came back to force overtime. Game four is now a must win for the Panthers. With it being a home game, the Panthers should have a solid response.
Game four of the Eastern Conference Finals will be on Tuesday, May 28th at 5:00 PM. That game will be in Florida.

The Dallas Stars take on the Edmonton Oilers in game three of the Western Conference Finals. That series is tied at 1-1. The winner will take the series lead. This game is in Edmonton. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:30 PM. Who will take the series lead? Will the Stars win in Edmonton? How will the Oilers respond after a game two loss?
