The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued last night with one game. It was game five of the Eastern Conference Finals. That series is between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers. The Eastern Conference Finals were tied going into yesterdays game. There is one game happening tonight. Tonights game is game five of the Western Conference Finals. That series is between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers. The Western Conference Finals are all tied up right now.

The New York Rangers took on the Florida Panthers in game five of the Eastern Conference Finals. The series was tied at 2-2 going into the game. The Panthers had won game one and game four. The Rangers had won game two and three. The last three games of this series went into overtime. This game was in New York. Neither team scored in the first period. The score was tied at 0-0 going into the second period.
Three minutes into the second period, #20 Chris Kreider scored to give the Rangers the lead. His goal was assisted by Mika Zibanejad. Halfway through the second period #42 Gustav Forsling scored for the Panthers to tie the game. His goal was assisted by #9 Sam Bennett and #5 Aaron Ekblad. The score was tied up at 1-1 after the second period.
Halfway through the second period, #16 Anton Lundell scored to give the Panthers the lead. His goal was assisted by #27 Eetu Lusodtarinen. With under two minutes left in the third period, #9 Sam Bennett scored an unassisted goal to give the Panthers a two goal lead. With under a minute to go, #13 Alexis Larenière scored for the Rangers to bring the lead back to one goal. His goal was assisted by Mika Zibanejad and #20 Chris Kreider. The final score was 3-2 Panthers. The Florida Panthers now have a 3-2 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.


This was yet another close game. The Rangers almost came back to tie the game. This is the fourth game in a row in this series that was decided by on goal. Now both teams have won back to back games. the Panthers have won more games in New York in this series than the Rangers have. The Panthers will have the first opportunity to win the Eastern Conference Finals and advance to the Stanley Cup Finals in game six.
Game six of the Eastern Conference Finals will be on Saturday, June 1st at 5:00 PM. That game will be in Florida.
