Canada played Australia. It was a Group A match. Australia was leading 49-45 at halftime. the final score was 93-83 Canada. Canada had a huge second half. They outscored Australia by fourteen in the second half. Canada will play Spain next. Australia will play Greece next.

Japan played France. It was a Group B match. The score was 49-44 Japan at halftime. Japan had a big first quarter where they score 32 points. The score was tied at 84-84 after the fourth quarter. The game went into overtime. This was the first overtime game in basketball at Paris 2024. The final score was 94-90 France. Japan will play Brazil next. France will play Germany next.

Brazil played Germany. It was a Group B game. The score was tied at 40-40 at halftime. The Final score was 86-73 Germany. The difference here was the inconsistency of the Brazilian scoring. Brazil scored thirty points in a single quarter but scored eleven or less in two different quarters. Brazil will play Japan next. Germany will play France next.
