The Tahoe Knight Monsters take on the Rapid City Rush for three games this weekend. This will be the fourth, fifth, and sixth games of a nine game away stint for the Knight Monsters. The Rapid City Rush got their start in the Central Hockey League. They were founded in 2008. They won their division in the 2010-11 CHL season. They won their conference and league in the 2009-10 CHL season. Their arena was built in 1973. It was expanded in 2021. It has a capacity of 7,500. Their arena is name The Monument after Mount Rushmore National Memorial. I can not find any sources but I do belive the teams is also named after Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Their logo is an R with some design features giving it movement. Their current logo used to be their alternate logo since at least 2014. It became their primary logo in 2020. The Rapid City Rush are the ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the NHL and the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL.

The Tahoe Knight Monsters are currently second in the ECHL Western Conference Mountain Division. They are in a playoff position. They will be looking to get closer to first place. They just finished up a three game away series against the Maine Mariners. The Knight Monsters are coming off of a win against the Maine Mariners. They are 6-3-1 in their last ten games going into this weekend. The Rapid City Rush are sixth in the ECHL Western Conference Mountain Division. They are fourteen points out of a playoff spot. The Rush will be looking to close the gap towards the last playoff spot. The Rush are coming off of three games against the Tulsa Oilers. They went 2-1-0 in those games. The Rush are 4-4-2 in their last ten games. The all time record between the Tahoe Knight Monsters and Rapid City Rush is 0-0-0 going into this weekends games. These two teams have not played each other before.
