The Tahoe Knight Monsters’ 2025-26 season is officially underway. Back in May, the team announced their full schedule for their second season in the ECHL. This year, the Knight Monsters will play a total of 72 regular season game, split evenly between 36 at home and 36 on the road. The season kicked off last weekend in Lake Tahoe, where the Knight Monsters opened play against the Idaho Steelheads. Looking ahead, the regular season will lead into the Kelly Cup Playoffs, which are set to begin on April 15, 2026.

The Tahoe Knight Monsters will once again compete in the ECHL’s Mountain Division of the Western Conference. The division features a strong lineup that includes the Allen Americans, Idaho Steelheads, Kansas City Mavericks, Rapid City Rush, Tulsa Oilers, Utah Grizzlies, and Wichita Thunder, alongside the Knight Monsters. Tahoe remains the only team in the division that didn’t originate from a different league, highlighting their unique place in the ECHL. This season, the Mountain Division remains unchanged, with no teams moving in or out, setting the stage for another year of familiar rivalries and competitive matchups. At the end of the regular season, the top four teams in the Mountain Division will advance to the Kelly Cup Playoffs, where they’ll battle for a chance to move one step closer to ECHL glory.

The Tahoe Knight Monsters kicked off their regular season on October 17th, marking the start of an exciting 2025-26 campaign. The season will run through April 11th, giving fans nearly six months of action-packed hockey. Throughout the season, the Knight Monsters will face a challenging mix of opponents.
Within the Mountain Division, Tahoe will meet the Allen Americans five times, three games at home and two on the road. The Knight Monsters will clash with the Idaho Steelheads nine times, including six matchups in Lake Tahoe and three in Idaho. They’ll go head-to-head with the Kansas City Mavericks seven times, splitting the games evenly with four at home and three away. Their longest stretch against a single opponent comes against Kansas City, as the two teams will square off five straight times over a two-week span. Tahoe will face the Rapid City Rush more than any other team this season, with fourteen total meetings, six in Tahoe and eight in Rapid City. They’ll also battle the Tulsa Oilers eight times, three at home, five on the road. The Utah Grizzlies nine times, six at home, three away. The Wichita Thunder round out the division slate with five games against the Knight Monsters, including three in Tahoe and two in Wichita.
Beyond divisional play, the Knight Monsters will take on four non-division opponents from the Western Conference’s Central Division. They’ll face the Bloomington Bison once in Bloomington, the Toledo Walleye three times in Toledo, and the Cincinnati Cyclones three times on home ice. From the Eastern Conference, Tahoe will visit the Greensboro Gargoyles of the North Division for a three-game set and host the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the South Division for three games in Lake Tahoe. It’s a packed and balanced schedule that will test the Knight Monsters across both conferences as they push toward another playoff appearance.
