
The Tahoe Knight Monsters entered their fourteenth game of the season facing a familiar challenge in the Greensboro Gargoyles. Sitting seventh in the league with a 7-5-1 record, the ECHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights was looking to rebound after a tough 0-2 loss in their previous meeting with Greensboro. The Gargoyles, the Carolina Hurricanes’ affiliate, came into the matchup at 4-5-3 and carrying momentum after winning both recent games against Tahoe. Historically, the Knight Monsters have yet to solve Greensboro, with the all-time series sitting at 0-1-1. Their most recent clash came on Friday, November 15th, 2025, where the Gargoyles once again came out on top. Tahoe hoped this latest matchup would finally shift the tide in their favor.

The Knight Monsters entered the matchup mired in a three-game losing streak, including a pair of tight defeats in Greensboro that only added to their frustration. Still hunting for their eighth win of the season, Tahoe was determined to right the ship and regain ground near the top of the league standings. On the other side, the Greensboro Gargoyles were eager to keep their momentum rolling, aiming for a third straight victory over the Knight Monsters. With four wins already secured, Greensboro was pushing for their fifth of the season as they continued battling to climb out of the lower tier of the ECHL.


#39 Cameron Whitehead got the start in net for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. #80 Ruslan Khazheyev got the start in net for the Greensboro Gargoyles.


A minute into the game, the Tahoe Knight Monsters took the lead. The goal was scored by #92 Sloan Stanick. His goal was assisted by #94 Kevin Wall and #96 Brennan Kapcheck.
With under seven minutes left in the first period, Trevor Zins of the Greensboro Gargoyles received a penalty for tripping. With under three minutes left in the opening period, Mike O’Leary of the Knight Monsters received a penalty for illegal check to the head. The score was 1-0 Tahoe Knight Monsters after the first period.

Two minutes into the second period, Kevin Wall of the Tahoe Knight Monsters received a penalty for slashing. On the power play David Gagnon of the Greensboro Gargoyles received a penalty for cross-checking. Five minutes into the second period, the Knight Monsters scored to take a two goal lead. #21 Adam Pitters scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #16 Jake Durflinger and #48 Anthony Collins.
With under a minute remaining in the second period, the Gargoyles scored. The goal was scored by #19 Ethan Leyh. The goal was assisted by #17 Anthony Rinaldi and #5 Andrius Kulbis-Marino.
The score was 2-1 with Tahoe still leading after the second period.

Three minutes into the third period, #15 Jake Mcgrew scored for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. His goal was assisted by #14 Connor Marritt. This goal gave the Knight Monsters a 3-1 lead.
Eight minutes into the third period, #92 Sloan Stanick scored for the Knight Monsters. It was his second goal of the game. It was assisted by #96 Brennan Kapcheck and #94 Kevin Wall. This goal gave the Knight Monsters a 4-1 lead.
Ten minutes into the third period, #16 Jake Durflinger scored for the Knight Monsters. His goal was assisted by #5 Kaelan Taylor and #10 Mike O’Leary. This goal gave the Knight Monsters a 5-1 lead.
With under five minutes remaining in the game Sloan Stanick was called for High-sticking. With under a minute left in the game, Jake Durflinger was called for Boarding. The final score was 5-1 Tahoe Knight Monsters.

Tahoe took the lead early in the game. They actually built on their lead early in the second period. Then Greensboro kept the game close with a late second period goal. Then Tahoe dominated the third period to win. Tahoe snapped the three game skid. They finally found themselves a win in Greensboro. They almost left Greensboro empty handed. Tahoe got back to winning. It was good to see. Now their long road trip comes to an end as they return home.







The Tahoe Knight Monsters are set to face the Savannah Ghost Pirates in the fifteenth game of the season. This matchup marks the first of their three-game series in at home. The puck is dropping on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, at 10:30 AM.
