My last transaction report was published on December 3, 2025, and a lot has happened since then for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. Goaltender Jordan Papirny earned another call-up to the Henderson Silver Knights, which led to Justis Gyori and Justin Sand of the Reno Ice Raiders serving as emergency backup goaltenders during his time in Henderson. Up front, forward Kevin Wall was loaned to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League. The Knight Monsters added depth with the arrivals of forwards Blake Wells and Chris Brown, along with defenseman CJ Valerian. The roster also saw a familiar face return, as forward Troy Loggins rejoined the Knight Monsters. In addition, forwards Jordan Gustafson and Sloan Stanick were both called up to the Henderson Silver Knights, continuing the steady movement between Tahoe and Henderson.
On Friday, December 5th, goaltender Jordan Papirny was recalled by the Henderson Silver Knights before being reassigned to the Tahoe Knight Monsters on Sunday, December 7th. Despite the brief call-up, Papirny has yet to see any AHL ice time this season. At the ECHL level, he has appeared in nine games for the Knight Monsters, logging 543 minutes in goal. During that stretch, Papirny has allowed 31 goals while making 325 saves, posting a 3.42 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.


On Friday, December 5th, goaltender Justis Gyori was added to the Tahoe Knight Monsters roster as an emergency backup goaltender. He was released on Saturday, December 6th. Gyori did not see any game action during his time with the team and remains a goaltender for the Reno Ice Raiders.

On Friday, December 5th, forward Kevin Wall was loaned from the Tahoe Knight Monsters to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League. He then signed a professional tryout (PTO) with Springfield. As of now, Wall appears to still be with the Thunderbirds. Prior to the loan, he appeared in 21 games for the Knight Monsters this season, recording 9 goals and 12 assists for 21 ECHL points. He also logged 16 penalty minutes and posted an impressive +14 +/- at the ECHL level.At the AHL level, Wall has played in 3 games this season with Springfield. He has yet to record a point, tallying 0 goals and 0 assists, along with no penalty minutes, and currently carries a -1 +/- rating.


On Friday, December 5th, goaltender Justin Sand was added to the Tahoe Knight Monsters as an emergency backup goaltender. A member of the Reno Ice Raiders, Sand was released later that same day. He was signed again on Saturday, December 6th, once more serving as an emergency backup before being released on Monday, December 8th. Sand did not see any game action during his time with the Knight Monsters. In terms of bench duty, Justis Gyori served as the backup on December 5, while Sand filled the backup role on December 6.

On Saturday, December 6th, the Tahoe Knight Monsters added forward Blake Wells to the roster. Wells is in his third season of professional hockey after playing junior hockey in the AJHL and competing at the NCAA level with UMass Lowell and American International College. His professional experience includes two seasons with the Utah Grizzlies before he opened the current season in the SPHL with the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Wells appeared in 14 games with Pensacola this season, recording 5 goals and 2 assists for 7 points, along with 4 penalty minutes and a +5 rating. Since joining the Knight Monsters, he has played in 5 ECHL games, tallying one assist for 1 point. He has yet to score an ECHL goal, has no penalty minutes, and currently carries a -2 plus/minus rating at the ECHL level.


On Tuesday, December 9th, the Tahoe Knight Monsters signed forward Chris Brown. The 2025-26 season marked Brown’s 14th year of professional hockey. His career path includes junior experience in the NAHL, NCAA play at the University of Michigan, and being selected 36th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2009 NHL Draft. Brown brought an extensive professional résumé, with experience across the NHL, AHL, DEL (Germany), as well as leagues in Slovakia and Austria. Brown appeared in 2 games with the Knight Monsters, recording no goals or assists. He finished his brief stint with 0 penalty minutes and a -1 plus/minus rating before being released on Monday, December 15.


On Friday, December 19th, the Tahoe Knight Monsters signed defenseman C.J. Valerian. Valerian played junior hockey in the EHL and NAHL before continuing his career at the NCAA level with Hobart College and New England College. The 2025-26 season marks his sixth year of professional hockey, with previous experience in both the SPHL and ECHL. Valerian began the season in the SPHL with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs, where he appeared in 21 games and recorded 2 goals and 7 assists for nine points. He also accumulated 42 penalty minutes and posted a +5 rating. Since joining the Knight Monsters, Valerian has played in 2 ECHL games, registering no points, 2 penalty minutes, and an even plus/minus rating.


On Friday, December 19th, the Tahoe Knight Monsters signed forward Troy Loggins, bringing back a familiar face from last season. Loggins appeared in 61 games for the Knight Monsters during the 2024-25 campaign, and the current season marks his seventh year of professional hockey. His background includes junior experience in the NAHL and USHL, highlighted by a USHL championship with the Sioux Falls Stampede during the 2013-14 season. He followed that with an NCAA career at Northern Michigan University. Loggins professional résumé also includes time in the AHL, ECHL, as well as leagues in Sweden and Slovakia. Last season, Loggins recorded 19 goals and 13 assists for 32 points in 61 ECHL games, along with 23 penalty minutes and a +5 plus/minus rating. He also appeared in 7 playoff games, where he did not record a point but accumulated 4 penalty minutes. This season, Loggins played 2 games with the Knight Monsters, scoring 1 goal for 1 point with no penalty minutes and a -1 rating, before being released on Monday, December 22.


On Friday, December 26th, forward Jordan Gustafson was recalled from the Tahoe Knight Monsters to the Henderson Silver Knights. Gustafson appeared in 13 games with the Knight Monsters this season, recording 2 goals and 9 assists for 11 points. He also logged 2 penalty minutes and posted a +2 plus/minus rating at the ECHL level. Despite the call-up, Gustafson has yet to appear in a game at the AHL level this season.


On Friday, December 26th, forward Sloan Stanick was called up from the Tahoe Knight Monsters to the Henderson Silver Knights. Stanick has yet to see action at the AHL level this season. With the Knight Monsters, he appeared in 29 games, recording 15 goals and 19 assists for a total of 34 points, along with 14 penalty minutes and a +9 plus/minus rating.
