The Tahoe Knight Monsters were coming off a loss to the Kansas City Mavericks. The Kansas City Mavericks are the ECHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken. The Mavericks had a record of 45-10-2. Kansas City were in first place in the league, conference, and division. The Kansas City Mavericks were coming off a win over the Tahoe Knight Monsters.

Jordan Papirny got the start in net for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. It was his thirtieth game played this season for Tahoe. Dylan Wells got the start in net for the Kansas City Mavericks. It was his sixth game played for Kansas City this season.


Five minutes into the game, Keanan Stewart of the Tahoe Knight Monsters was called for high-sticking. On the penalty kill, Olivier LeBlanc of Tahoe was given a double minor for high-sticking. On the power play, Jackson Berezowski scored to give the Kansas City Mavericks the lead. His goal was assisted by Jack Randl and Landon McCallum.
Midway through the first period, David Cotton scored to give the Kansas City Mavericks a two-goal lead. His goal was assisted by Casey Carreau.
With eight minutes left in the opening period, James Marooney of Kansas City was called for slashing. With under a minute left in the first period, Landon McCallum scored for the Mavericks. His goal was assisted by Tyler Schleppe.

His goal was assisted by Landon McCallum and Marcus Crawford. Following this goal Tahoe would switch goaltenders. Jordan Papirny was replaced by Dominic Basse in net for Tahoe. Dominic Basse and Kansas City goal Dylan Wells both started the season with the Utah Grizzlies.
Five minutes into the second period, Samuel Mayer of Tahoe was called for roughing. At the same time David Cotton of Kansas City was also called for roughing. Six minutes into the second period, Sloan Stanick of Tahoe was called for tripping. Midway through the second period, Bobo Carpenter of Kansas City was called for tripping. With five minutes left in the period, Jake McGrew of Tahoe was called for high-sticking. The Mavericks had a 5-0 lead heading into the third period.

Fifty-four seconds into the third period, Trent Swick of the Tahoe Knight Monsters was called for tripping. Four minutes into the third period, Drake Burgin of the Kansas City Mavericks was called for slashing. Six minutes into the third period, Tahoe scored. Devon Paliani got Tahoe on the board. His goal was scored by Anthony Collins and Kaelan Taylor.
Nine minutes into the third period, Anthony Collins of Tahoe was called for unsportsmanlike conduct. Bobo Carpenter scored on the power play for the Mavericks. His goal was assisted by Landon McCallum and Marcus Crawford.
With eight minutes left in the game, Kansas City scored another goal. This goal was scored by Hudson Wilson. His goal was assisted by Drake Burgin and Bobo Carpenter.
With under five minutes left in the game, Sloan Stanick of Tahoe was called for high-sticking. The Mavericks scored on the power play, again. Justin Janicke got the goal. His goal was assisted by Casey Carreau and Jackson Berezowski.
With twenty seconds left in the game, Samuel Mayer of Tahoe was given a ten-minute misconduct. Devon Paliani of Tahoe was called for unsportsmanlike conduct and given a ten-minute misconduct. Linden Alger of Tahoe was also given a ten-minute misconduct. Hudson Wilson of Kansas City was given a ten-minute misconduct. Finally Thomas Farrell of Kansas City was given a ten-minute misconduct. Lots of penalties at the end of the game. The final score was 8-1, Kansas City Mavericks.
