
The Tahoe Knight Monsters returned to the ice for game sixty of the season as they took on the Toledo Walleye. Tahoe entered the contest with a 29-25-5 record, sitting fourth in the Mountain Division, and looking to bounce back after suffering back-to-back losses to the Kansas City Mavericks. Serving as the ECHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights, the Knight Monsters continue to push for positioning as the regular season winds down. On the other side, the Toledo Walleye came into this matchup as one of the league’s top teams, holding a 36-14-8 record and sitting firmly in first place in the Central Division. As the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, Toledo has consistently been a strong contender this season and entered the game with momentum following a win over the Savannah Ghost Pirates.



Ten minutes into the first period, the Toledo Walleye took the lead. With eight minutes left in the period, Toledo was called for slashing. On the power play, the Tahoe Knight Monsters scored to tie the game. A minute after tying the game, the Knight Monsters scored again to take the lead. The Tahoe Knight Monsters were leading the game 2-1 after the first period.

Forty-two seconds into the second period, the Tahoe Knight Monsters scored to take a two-goal lead. Five minutes into the second period, the Toledo Walleye scored. This brought the lead back down to one goal. Seven minutes into the second period, Tahoe were called for holding. On the penalty kill, Tahoe were called for slashing. On the power play, the Walleye scored to tie the game. With one second left in the second period, the Walleye scored to take the lead. The Toledo Walleye were leading the game 4-3 going into the third period.

Five minutes into the third period, the Tahoe Knight Monsters were called for roughing. At the same time the Toledo Walleye were also called for roughing. With eight minutes left in the game, Toledo were called for boarding. Neither team scored in the final frame. The final score was 4-3, Toledo Walleye.
