
The Tahoe Knight Monsters returned to the ice for their sixty-first game of the season as they take on the Toledo Walleye on Saturday. Tahoe entered the contest with a 29-26-5 record, sitting fourth in the Mountain Division. As the ECHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights, the Knight Monsters were looking to regain momentum after a tough stretch, having dropped their last three games, including their most recent loss to Toledo. On the other side, the Toledo Walleye came into this game riding high. Holding first place in the Central Division with an impressive 37-14-8 record, Toledo has been one of the league’s top teams this season. As the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, the Walleye have built strong consistency and confidence, and they’ll look to continue that trend after defeating Tahoe in their last meeting. With three straight wins under their belt, Toledo entered this matchup with momentum firmly on their side.



Five minutes into the game, the Toledo Walleye scored the first goal of the game. Eight minutes into the game, the Tahoe Knight Monsters scored to tie the game. With under seven minutes left in the opening period, the Knight Monsters scored again to take the lead. The Tahoe Knight Monsters had a 2-1 lead after the first period.

Seven minutes into the second period, the Tahoe Knight Monsters were called for interference. Midway through the second period, Tahoe were called for tripping. With one second left in the period, the Toledo Walleye were called for elbowing. The Tahoe Knight Monsters held onto their 2-1 lead going into the third period.

Seven minutes into the third period, the Tahoe Knight Monsters scored to take a three-goal lead. With under six minutes left in the game, Tahoe were called for holding. With under two-minutes remaining in the game, the Knight Monsters scored to put the game firmly out of reach for the Toledo Walleye. The final score was 4-1, Tahoe Knight Monsters.
