
The Tahoe Knight Monsters took on the Toledo Walleye for one final time in Ohio last Sunday. This was game sixty-two of the season for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. The Tahoe Knight Monsters are the ECHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights. The Knight Monsters had a record of 30-26-5. Tahoe were in fourth place in the Mountain Division. The Tahoe Knight Monsters were coming off a win over the Toledo Walleye. This was game sixty-one for the Toledo Walleye. The Toledo Walleye are the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings. The Walleye had a record of 37-15-8. Toledo were in first place in the Central Division. The Toledo Walleye were coming off a loss against the the Tahoe Knight Monsters. This game was played at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio.



Dominic Basse got the start in net for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. It was his second game played for Tahoe this season. Carter Gylander got the start in net for the Toledo Walleye. It was his twenty-eighth game played for Toledo.


Three minutes into the game, the Tahoe Knight Monsters took the lead. The first goal of the game was scored by Linden Alger. His goal was assisted by Trent Swick and Adam Pitters.
Seven minutes into the game, Nick Andrews of the Toledo Walleye was called for high-sticking. With four minutes lefr in the opening period, the Knight Monsters took a two goal lead. The goal was scored by Kevin Wall. His goal was assisted Sloan Stanick and Devon Paliani.
The Tahoe Knight Monsters had a two-goal lead after the first period.

Twenty-one seconds into the second period, Riley McCourt of the Toledo Walleye was called for high-sticking. Three minutes into the second period, Tucker Ness of the Tahoe Knight Monsters was called for slashing. On the penalty kill, Devon Paliani scored to give the Knight Monsters a three goal lead. His goal was assisted by Kevin Wall.
Still on the power play, Brandon Hawkins scored to get the Toledo Walleye on the score board. His goal was assisted by Riley McCourt and Tanner Kelly.
Eight minutes into the second period, Reilly Funk of Toledo was called for holding. With four minutes left in the second period, Jonny Waldron of Toledo was called for high-sticking. With under a minute left in the second period, Tucker Ness of Tahoe was called for fighting. Cam Hausinger of Toledo was also called for fighting.
The Tahoe Knight Monsters had a 3-1 lead going into the third period.

Fourteen seconds into the third period, Mike Van Unen of the Tahoe Knight Monsters was called for high-sticking. Eight minutes into the third period, Mike Van Unen of Tahoe was called for tripping. With nine minutes left in the game Louka Henault of Tahoe was called for delay of game. On the power play, Garrett Van Wyhe scored for the Toledo Walleye to bring the lead down to one goal. His goal was assisted by Colin Swoyer and Johnny Waldron.
Thirteen seconds after the power play goal, Brandon Michaelian scored for the Walleye too tie the game. His goal was assisted by Will MacKinnon and Reilly Funk.
The game was toed at 3-3 after the third period. The game would go into overtime.

Two minutes into overtime, Sloan Stanick scored to win the game for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. The final score was 4-3, Tahoe Knight Monsters.


The Toledo Walleye had thirteen more shots. The Tahoe Knight Monsters had 23 total shots. The Toledo Walleye had 38 total shots. The Knight Monsters had the better shots percentage. Both teams had four power plays. Tahoe was 0 for 4 on the power play. Toledo was 2 for 4 on the power play. Tahoe also got a short handed goal. Both teams had thirteen penalty minutes. Dominic Basse saved 33 shots for a 92% save percentage for Tahoe. Carter Gylander saved 19 shots for an 83% save percentage for Toledo.



The Tahoe Knight Monsters have now played 62 games. They have a record of 31-26-5 with 67 points. They are in fourteenth place overall in the ECHL. They are in seventh place in the Western Conference. They are in fourth place in the Mountain Division. They are in a playoff spot. They are nine points into a playoff spot. They are not in danger of moving out of a playoff spot right now. The Kansas City Mavericks have already secured first place in the whole league. The best Tahoe can finish right now is second place in the division. Tahoe are six points away from third place. Tahoe are fifteen points out of second place in the division. I think Tahoe could push for the third in the division with a strong showing down the stretch. Tahoe would have to be near perfect to get into second place. If the Knight Monsters finish in fourth they will have to play the Kansas City Mavericks. A third place finish and having to play the Idaho Steelheads in the first round of the playoffs would be better.


The Tahoe Knight Monsters are playing the Rapid City Rush in game 63. This game will be on Friday, March 27th, 2026. The Game will take place at the Tahoe Blue Event Center. The Tahoe Knight Monsters have nine games remaining in the regular season.
