Unfortunately the United States started this game the way they ended the Canadian game. They were getting a lot of shots. They were controlling the game. They had plenty of offensive zone time. They were not getting a lot good scoring opportunities. They have to take better shot selection. They have to stop looking for the perfect shot. They have to stop hesitating to shoot the puck. They have to take harder shots from the point. In the third period they found their footing. They are starting to play better. Those issues are still prevalent.

The United States has eliminated the Czech Republic. The United States has moved on to the Semifinals. They have a good chance to make it to the gold medal match. Their is a 90% chance that they will walk away from this tournament with a medal. Unless the United States completely collapses they will be in the gold medal match. The United States is still favorite to win gold despite their loss to Canada.
