We are now 14 days into the XXIV Olympic Winter Games being held in Beijing China. Two weeks in. There are 5 days left in the 2022 Olympics. Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Curling, Figure Skating, Freestyle Skiing, Ice Hockey, Nordic Combined, Snowboarding and Speed Skating happened. Medals were handed out for Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Freestyle Skiing, Nordic Combined, Snowboarding and Speed Skating.
Alpine Skiing. Alpine Skiing had the Women’s Downhill. Switzerlands Corinne Suter won gold. Italys Sofia Goggia won silver. Italys Nadia Delago won bronze. The United states came in 17th, 18th, 21st and DNF (did not finish). Alpine Skiing will continue tonight.

Biathlon. In Biathlon there was the Men’s 4×7.4km Relay. Norway won gold. France won silver. ROC (Russia) won bronze. The United States came in 13th. Biathlon continues tonight.

Bobsleigh. In Bobsleigh they had the 2-Woman Official Trining Heat 1 and 2. They also had the 2-Man Heat 3 and 4. For the 2-Man Germany swept the podium. Francesco Friedrich won gold. Johannes Lochner won silver. Christoph Hafer won bronze. The United States came in 13th. Bobsleigh continues tonight.



In Curling there was more round robin matches for both the Men’s and Women’s competitions. Twelve matches were played. In the Men’s competition Sweden leads the standings. Great Britain is in second. Both Sweden and Great Britain have qualified for the elimination stage. Canada is in third. The United States is tied with ROC (Russia) for the fourth and final spot. In the Women’s competition Switzerland is in first place. Sweden is in second place. Great Britain, Japan and the United States are tied for third. Canada is in sixth.
Curling will continue with ten more group matches.

Figure Skating. Women’s Single Skating Short Program. Figure Skating continues on the 17th.

Freestyle Skiing. In Freestyle Skiing there was Women’s Slopestyle Finals. There was Men’s Slopestyle Qualification Runs. There was also Men’s Aerials Qualifications 1 and 2. In the Women’s Slopestyle Finals Switzerlands Mathilde Gremaud won gold. Chinas Ailing Eileen GU won silver. Estonias Kelly Sildaru won bronze. The United States finished in 5th and 12th. Freestyle Skiing continues tonight.


Ice Hockey. There were 4 games. All of them were Men’s Qualification Play-off games. The Quarterfinals are now set. I will go in depth on what happened in my next post. Five games are coming up including the Women’s bronze medal game.

Nordic Combined. They had the Individual Gundersen Large Hill/10km Ski Jumping Trial and Competition Rounds, They also had the Individual Gundersen Large Hill/10km Cross-Country. For the Individual Gundersen Large Hill/10km Cross-Country Norways Joergen Graabak won gold. Norways Jens Luraas Ofterbro won silver. Japans Akito Watabe won bronze. The United States came in 17th, 19th, 23rd, and 34th. Nordic Combined continues tonight.

Snowboarding. They had the Men’s and Women’s big air finals. In the Men’s competition Chinas Yiming Su won gold. Norways Mons Roisland won silver. Canadas Max Parrot won bronze. The United States came in 5th and 7th. In the Women’s competition Austrias Anna Gasser won gold. New Zealands Zoi Sadowski Synnott won silver. Japans Kokomo Murase won bronze. With that Snowboarding at the 2022 Olympics has finished.



Speed Skating. Speed Skating had the Men’s and Women’s team pursuits. In the Women’s competition Canada won gold. Japan won silver. Netherlands won bronze. In the Men’s competition Norway won gold. ROC (Russia) won silver. The United States won bronze. Speed Skating continues on the 17th.
