Day 15 | XXIV Olympic Winter Games | Beijing 2022

We are now 15 days into the XXIV Olympic Winter Games being held in Beijing China. There are now 4 days left in the 2022 Olympics. Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Cross-Country Skiing, Curling, Freestyle Skiing, Ice Hockey, Nordic Combined, and Short Track Speed Skating took place. Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Cross-Country Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Ice Hockey, and Short Track Speed Skating.

Alpine Skiing. They had the Men’s slalom Runs 1 and 2. They also had the Women’s Alpine Combined Downhill 1st Training. In the Men’s Slalom Run 2, Frances Clement Noel won gold. Austrias Johannes Strolz won silver. Norways Sebastian Foss-Solevaag won bronze. Alpine skiing continues tonight.

Biathlon. In Biathlon they had the Women’s 4x6km Relay. Sweden won gold. ROC (Russia) was silver. Germany won bronze. The United States came in 11th. Biathlon will continue on the 18th.

Bobsleigh. In Bobsleigh they had 4-man Official Training heats 1 and 2. They also had the 2-woman Official Training Heats 3 and 4. Bobsleigh will continue tonight.

Cross-Country Skiing. In Cross-Country Skiing they had the Men’s and Women’s Team Sprint Classic Semifinals and Finals. In the Women’s Team Sprint Classic Final, Germany won gold. Sweden won silver. ROC (Russia) won bronze. The United states came in 5th. In the Men’s Team Sprint Classic Final, Norway won gold. Finland won silver. ROC (Russia) won bronze. The United States finished 9th. Cross-Country Skiing continues on the 18th.

In Curling there was more round robin matches for both the Men’s and Women’s competitions. Ten matches were played. In the Men’s competition, Great Britain, Sweden, and Canada have qualified for the elimination round. The United states sits in 4th with one more game to play. In the Women’s competition, Switzerland and Sweden have qualified for the elimination round. Japan sits in 3rd. Canada sits in 4th. The United States is tied for 7th with no more games to play. I pretty sure USA wont be moving on.

Curling will continue with ten more matches. Them men’s semifinals are last two of those matches.

Freestyle Skiing. In Freestyle Skiing there was the Men’s Freeski Slopestyle Runs 1, 2 and 3. There was also the Men’s Aerials Final 1 and 2. In the Men’s Freeski Slopestyle, the United States Alexander Hall won gold. The United States Nicholas Goepper won silver. Swedens Jesper Tjader won bronze. In the Men’s Aerials Final Chinas Guangpu Qi won gold. Ukraines Olesandr Abramenko won silver. ROC (Russias) Ilia Burov won bronze. The United States finished in 5th and 6th.

Ice Hockey. There were 5 games. Four men’s Quarterfinals games. The Women’s bronze medal game. I will go in depth with all of this in later posts. The Women’s gold medal game between USA and Canada is the only game today.

Nordic Combined. In Nordic Combined they had the Gundersen Large Hill/10km Official Training 4. Nordic Combined continues tonight.

Short Track Speed Skating. In Short Track Speed Skating they had the Women’s 1500m Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Final B and Final A. They also had the Men’s 5000m Relay Final B and Final A. In the Men’s 5000m Relay, Canada won gold. Republic of Korea won silver. Italy won bronze. In the the Women’s 1500m, Republic of Koreas Minjeong Choi won gold. Italys Ariana Fontana won silver. Netherlands Suzanne Schulting won bronze. That will be it for Short-Track speed skating at the 2022 olympics.
