Day 17 | XXIV Olympic Winter Games | Beijing 2022

We are now 17 days into the XXIV Olympic Winter Games being held in Beijing China. There are now 2 days left in the 2022 Olympics. Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Curling, Figure Skating, Freestyle Skiing, Ice Hockey, and Speed Skating happened. Medals were handed out for Biathlon, Curling, Freestyle Skiing, and Speed Skating.

Biathlon. In Biathlon there was the Women’s 12.5km Mass Start. They also had the Men’s 15km Mass Start. In the Women’s 12.5km Mass Start Frances Justine Braisaz-Bouchet won gold. Norways Tiril Eckhoff won silver. Noerways Marte Olsbu Rpeideland won bronze. The United States came in 23rd. In the the Men’s 15km Mass Start Norways Johannes Thingnes Boe won gold. Swedens Martin Ponsiluoma won silver. Norways Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen won bronze. Biathlon is now finished at the 2022 Olympics.

Bobsleigh. In Bobsleigh they had training fr 4-man. They also had the 2-woman heats 1 and 2. Bobsleigh will continue tonight.

Curling. In Curling there was the Men’s bronze medal match. The United States played Canada in that match. There was also the Women’s Semifinals. Great Britain and Sweden will play tonight for gold in the Men’s competition. In the Women’s competition, the United States didn’t qualify for the elimination stage. The Women’s Semifinals will be played tonight. Switzerland will take on Japan. Sweden will take on japan.

Curling will continue with the Men’s gold medal match and Women’s Semifinals.

Figure Skating. In figure skating they had the Pair Skating – Short Program. Figure Skating finishes up at 3am PST.

Freestyle Skiing. In Freestyle Skiing there was Women’s Freeski Halfpipe Final Runs. Men’s Ski Cross also took place. In Women’s Freeski Halfpipe Chinas Ailing Eileen Gu won gold. Canadas Cassie Sharpe won silver. Canadas Rachael Karker won bronze. The United States came in 6th, 10th and 11th. In Men’s Ski Cross, Switzerlands Ryan Regez won gold. Switzerlands Alex Fiva won silver. ROC (Russia) Sergey Ridzik won bronze. Freestyle skiing will continue tonight.

Ice Hockey. Men’s Semifinals happened. The medal games are set. Finland and ROC (Russia) are in the gold medal game. Slovakia and Sweden are in the bronze medal game. The bronze medal game will be tonight. I will do an in depth post about this later.

Speed Skating. In Speed Skating there was the Men’s 1000m. Netherlands Thomas Krol won gold. Canadas Laurent Dubreuil won silver. Norways Haavrd Holmefjord Lorentez won bronze. The United States came in 14th and 29th. Speed Skating continues tonight.
