2022 NHL Playoffs | Day 7

It’s day seven of the 2022 National Hockey League playoffs. Yesterdays playoff action was thrilling. Todays games promise to be just as exciting. The Florida Panthers took on the Washington Capitals. The Colorado Avalanche played the Nashville Predators. The New York Rangers played the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Calgary Flames played the Dallas Stars.

Florida Panthers vs Washington Capitals. Round one. Game three. In Washington. The Panthers scored first less than 3 minutes into the game. The Capitals tied it up late in the first period. The score was 1-1 heading into the second period. The Capitals would score two unanswered goals in the second period. The score was 3-1 going into the third period. The Capitals would score three more unanswered goals in the third period. The final score was 6-1 Capitals. The Capitals now have a 2-1 series lead. Game 4 will be on Monday in Washington.

Colorado Avalanche vs Nashville Predators. Round one. Game three. In Nashville. The Avalanche had the chance to go up 3-0 in the series with this game. That would put them in a position to sweep the series. The avalanche scored first. they made it 2-0 before Nashville would score. The score after the first period was 2-1. The Predators would tie it up on the powerplay. The Avalanche would get the lead back on the powerplay. The Predators would tie it again on the powerplay. The Avalanche would score and they wouldn’t let the Predators score again in the second period. The score was 5-1 Avalanche going into the third period. The Avalanche would score two unanswered goals in the third period. The final score was 7-3 Avalanche. The Avalanche are now up 3-0 in the series. They now have a chance to sweep the Predators. The Avalanche only need one more win to win the series. Game 4 will be on Monday in Nashville.

New York Rangers vs Nashville Predators. Round one. Game three. In Pittsburgh. The series was tied at 1-1 heading into this game. The Penguins are also starting their third string goalie for now. The Penguins started out the scoring less than 3 minutes into the game. The Rangers tied the game. The Penguins took a 4-1 lead after the first period. The Rangers scored three unanswered goals (including a short handed goal) to tie the game. The score was 4-4 heading into the third period. The Penguins would score three unanswered goals of their own in the third period. The final score was 7-4 Penguins. The Penguins now have a 2-1 series lead. Game 4 will be in Pittsburgh on Monday.

Calgary Flames vs Dallas Stars. Round One. Game three. In Dallas. The series was tied going into this game. The Stars scored first. The Flames managed to tie the game before the end of the first period. After the first period the score was 1-1. The flames would take the lead early in the second period. Dallas would manage to tie the game. The score was 2-2 heading into the third period. The Stars scored on a powerplay goal to take the lead. They would score two unanswered goals in the third period. The final score was 4-2 in what was a really close game. This series has been the closest out of all of the first round series. The Dallas stars now have a 2-1 series lead.

Boston already beat Carolina. I will cover that tomorrow. Will the Blues be able to tie the series? Will the Wild take a 3-1 series lead? Will the Maple Leafs fall apart in the first round again? Will the Lightning tie the series? Will the Oilers run all over the Kings again? Can the Kings do anything to stop the Oilers?
