It’s day thirteen of the 2022 National Hockey League playoffs. Yesterday the New York Rangers Played the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Florida Panthers played the Washington Capitals. The Calgary Flames played the Dallas Stars.

I missed getting a post out yesterday. I will be covering that stuff briefly in this post.

Day 12. Stuff I missed. The Bruins won Forcing a game seven with the Hurricanes. The Lightning beat the Maple Leafs in overtime to force a game seven. The Blues won eliminating the Wild. The Oilers beat the Kings to force a game seven. That game gave us one of the most iconic photos of the playoffs so far. After scoring the Evander Kane of the Oilers threw up a seven at the Kings crowd.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs New York Rangers. Round one. Game six. In Pittsburgh. The Penguins led the series 3-2 going into the game. No Sidney Crosby. With a win the Penguins could advance to round two. The Penguins took a 2-0 lead after the first period. The Rangers then scored three goals. The Penguins were able to tie it up before the end of the period. The score was 3-3 going into the third period. The Rangers took the lead late in the period. The Rangers got the empty net goal. The final score was 5-3 Rangers. The Rangers were able to force a game seven. Game seven will be tomorrow in New York.

It’s unknown if Cosby will play in game seven. He has been skating and practicing but who knows. I am not making excuses as to why the Penguins lost but if you take out the star player on any team it changes things. Crosby has been huge for the Penguins so far in the playoffs. Without him it will be tough for the Penguins. Game seven promises to be a good game.

Washington Capitals vs Florida Panthers. Round one. Game six. In Washington. The series was 3-2 Panthers going into the game. With a win the Panthers would advance to the second round. Neither team scored in the first period. The Capitals would break the tie in the second period. The Panthers would tie the game back up before the end of the period. The score was 1-1 going into the third period. The Capitals would take the lead early in the third period. The Panthers would score two goals to get the lead. With 1 minute and 1 second to go, TJ Oshie scored for the Capitals to tie the game. That goal would send them to overtime. The Panthers would score less than 3 minutes into overtime. The final score 4-3 Panthers. With that the Panthers have eliminated the Capitals. The Panthers will be moving on to round two. They will either play the Lightning or Maple Leafs.

It was a good series. The Capitals playoff experience definitely helped them out. They did not make it easy for the Panthers. The panthers next opponents will be just as tough for them.

Dallas Stars vs Calgary Flames. Round one. Game six. In Dallas. The Flames led the series at 3-2 going into the game. With a win the Flames could advance to round two. The Stars took a 1-0 lead after the first period. The Stars would make it 2-0 before the Flames would score. The Flames would tie the game but the stars would take the lead before the end of the period. The score was 3-2 Stars going into the third period. The Stars would add one more goal to that total before the end of the period. The final score was 4-2 Stars. The Stars managed to force a game seven. Game seven will be in Calgary tomorrow.

Flip a coin. See who wins. The series has been that close. I wouldn’t be surprised if game seven needs overtime. I still want the Flames to win. I am still holding out for a battle of Alberta in this years playoffs.

Here are the upcoming games:

All of tonights games are game sevens. Bruins vs Hurricanes. I want the Hurricanes to win. Will the Bruins be able to overcome the talent of the Hurricanes. Will the home advantage help the Hurricanes win? Tampa Bay Lightning vs Toronto Maple Leafs. I want to Lightning to win. Will the Lightning advance for another Miami Ice (Lightning vs Panthers) showdown? Will the Maple Leafs have another first round exit? LA Kings vs Edmonton Oilers. I want the Oilers to win this one. Will the Kings have what it takes to close out the series in an away game? Will the Oilers be able finally live up to expectations and win game seven?

* As of writing this The hurricanes lead the Bruins after two period.
