Morocco vs Portugal
Today’s first quarter-finals match was Morocco vs Portugal. Morocco beat Spain in the round of 16 to reach the quarter-finals. Portugal beat Switzerland to advance to the quarter-finals. Portugal was favored to win this match. Morocco scored in the 42′ minute to take the lead. They held on to a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Neither team scored in the second half. Morocco got a red card on the 90+3′ minute. The final was 1-0 Morocco. In another big upset for Morocco they knock out a favorite Portugal. Morocco has advanced to the semi-finals where they will play the winner of England vs France.
England vs France
England faced France in today’s second quarter-finals match. England beat Senegal to reach the quarter-finals. France beat Poland in the round of 16 to advance to the quarter-finals. France scored the opening goal in the 17′ minute. France would take a 1-0 lead into the second half. England tied the game in the 54′ minute. France took the lead again in the 78′ minute. The final was 2-1 Fracne. England had majority of possession and outshot France. France still found a way to win. It’s not coming home as England is now eliminated from the world cup. France has advanced to the semi-finals. France will play Morocco in the semi-finals.
Argentina, Croatia, Morocco, and France have advanced to the semi-finals. The other semi-final matchup will be set after tomorrow’s matches.
The world cup will resume on the 13th with Argentina vs Croatia. Argentina is heavily favored to win that match. I think they will. The other semi-final match will be France vs Morocco on the 14th. The winners will advance to the world cup final.
The Netherlands won Group A. England won Group B. Argentina won Group C. France won Group D. Japan won Group E. Morocco won Group F. Brazil won Group G. Portugal won Group H.

Ecuador, Qatar, Iran, Wales, Germany, Costa Rica, Belgium, Canada, Cameroon, Serbia, Uruguay, and Ghana were all eliminated in the group stage.
The United States, Australia, Poland, Senegal, Japan, South Korea, Spain, and Switzerland were eliminated in the round of 16.
The Netherlands, Brazil have been eliminated in the quarter-finals.
Argentina, Croatia, Morocco, and France have advanced to the semi-finals.
