Today is the Super Bowl. This concept will be a lot like most of the concepts in my Qatar 2022 Ice Hockey concept. I used the same logos. Arizona has not hosted an professional outdoor ice hockey game. At this point it doesn’t seem likely that they will anytime soon. It is extremely possible though as State Farm Stadium (the 2023 Super Bowl host) is an indoor stadium. Anyway the Philadelphia Eagles are playing the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl and I have reimagined it as an ice hockey game.
The logo in this concept is the same as the real one. I was thinking about getting rid of the trophy in the logo but that wasn’t really working. I just left it and I think it is fine. The logo is in the Super Bowl template. The NFL moved to using a single template in 2011. They did that because they compare the event to the Olympics and they want something recognizable and iconic like the olympic rings. The current template was was adopted in 2016. What I particularly like with the 2023 and 2022 logos is that they went back to using elements that represent the host city.
The first two logos are the team’s primary logos. The Chiefs adopted their current logo in 1972. It has KC inside of an arrowhead. Its simplicity has stood the test of time. The Eagles adopted their current logo in 1996. It’s just an eagle head. The other Chiefs logo is their Lamar Hunt AFL memorial logo. Lamar Hunt did a lot in his lifetime for American sports. The other three logos are wordmark logos.
The Eagles jersey is midnight green, black, white, and silver. On the front is the Eagles wordmark seen on their jerseys. On the Shoulders are the Super Bowl LVII logo and the Eagles primary logo. The Chiefs jersey is white, red, and gold. On the front are the player numbers instead of a logo. On the shoulders are the Super Bowl LVII logo and the Lamar Hunt AFL memorial logo. The template for both of the jerseys is the Nike template seen in my Qatar 2022 Ice Hockey concept. It is inspired by the Nike jerseys used in the 2022 Winter Olympics. Both jerseys are inspired by the ones worn in Super Bowl LVII.
This is the second time that the 72,200-seat stadium has hosted the Super Bowl. It was one of the first stadiums to have a removable grass field. The complex is also home to the former Arizona Coyotes arena. I thought it would be interesting for this concept to make behind the goal lines match what the end zones look like. I tried to match the ice rink to the field design for the game.
