I am back to talk more about the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There was four games last night. In the Eastern Conference, the Carolina Hurricanes played the New York Islanders. The Boston Bruins played the Florida Panthers in the other Eastern Conference game. In the Western Conference the Dallas Stars played the Minnesota Wild. In the other Western Conference game the Los Angeles Kings played the Edmonton Oilers.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs continue tonight with four more games.

The Carolina Hurricanes came into game three with a 2-0 series lead over the New York Islanders. Neither team would score in the first period. The score was 0-0 heading into the second period.
Casey Cizikas scored the games opening goal to give the Islanders a 1-0 lead. Jesper Fast scored short handed for the Hurricanes to tie the game. The game would be tied at 1-1 going into the third period.
Kyle Palmieri would score on the powerplay to give the Islanders the lead. Matt Martin would score for the Islanders. Scott Mayfield would then score for the Islanders. Then Anders Lee would score for the Islanders. The final score was 5-1 Islanders. Carolina still leads the series at 2-1.

there was a lot of penalty minutes in this one. The Home Ice advantage helped the Islanders in this one. Their offense finally showed up. We will see if they can continue to keep it rolling on offense in game four. We will also see if this was just a one off or if the Hurricanes are slipping.
Game Four will be on Sunday April 22nd at 10:00am PST.

Coming into game three the series between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers was tied at 1-1. Taylor Hall scored the opening goal of the game to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. They would carry that lead into the second period.
Charlie Coyle would score to give the Bruins a two goal lead. The Bruins would have a 2-0 lead going into the third period.
David Pastrnak would score for the Bruins. Then Nick Foligno would score for the Bruins. Gustav Forsling would score short handed to finally put the Panthers on the board. Sam Reinhart would then score for the Panthers. The final score was 4-2 Bruins. The Bruins now have 2-1 series lead.

The Panthers didn’t get their offense going until too late in this game. The Bruins were able to get on the board and keep their lead. Neither team was able to score on the powerplay. There were a lot of hits in this game but there were far less penalty minutes in the game than I expected.
Game four will be on Sunday April 22nd at 12:30pm PST.

The series between the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild was tied going into game three. Mats Zuccarello would score the opening goal of the game. His goal gave the Wild a 1-0 lead. They would keep that lead after the first period.
Marcus Johansson would than score to give the wild a 2-0 lead. Luke Glendening would score to give the Stars a goal. Marcus Foligno would score on the powerplay to get the Wild’s lead back up to two goals. After two periods the score was 3-1 Wild.
Mats Zuccarello would score his second goal of the game for the Wild. Ryan Hartman would score for the Wild late in the game. The final score was 5-1 Wild. The Wild now have a 2-1 series lead.

The Wild were greatly helped by the hoe ice advantage here. After two close games the Wild were finally able to get a larger advantage over the Stars. The Stars on the other hand didn’t show up offensively. We will see if the Wild can keep this going. I think the Stars will be doing everything in their power to not let this happen in game four.
Game four will be on Sunday April 22nd at 3:30pm PST.

The series between the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings was tied at 1-1 going into game three. Alex Lafallo scored the first goal of the game. His goal gave the Kings the lead. The Kings had a 1-0 lead after the first period.
Connor McDavid scored on the powerplay to tie the game. He then scored another powerplay goal shortly after to give the Oilers the lead. Adrian Kempe scored for the Kings to bring the game back even. The game was tied at 2-2 going into the third period.
Neither team would score in the third period. For the second game in this series the game would go to overtime.
Trevor Moore would score a powerplay goal early into overtime to win the game for the Kings. The Kings now have a 2-1 Series lead.

Another game where the Oilers gave up their lead. Another game where the Oilers lost in overtime on a powerplay goal. The Oilers need to find a way to keep a lead. The Kings are doing a great job of not giving up. The Kings are finding ways to win. The Oilers are finding ways to lose.
Game four will be on Sunday April 22nd at 6:00pm PST.

Round one game threes finish up today. The Vegas Golden Knights and Winnipeg Jets series is tied. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning series is tied. The New York Rangers lead the New Jersey Devils two games to none in that series. The Colorado Avalanche and Seattle Kraken series is tied. It will be the first playoff game in Seattle since the 1920s.
