The New York Rangers came into game three with a 2-0 series lead over the New Jersey Devils. Neither team scored in the first period. The game was tied at 0-0 going into the second period.

Chris Kreider would score to give the Ranger the lead. Jack Hughes would score for the Devils to tie the game. The score was tied after two periods at 1-1.

No one scored in the third period. The game would go to overtime.

Dougie Hamilton scored to give the Devils their first win of the series. The final score was 2-1 Devils. The Rangers still lead the series at 2-1.

This was a big win for the Devils in New York. To come into Madison Square Garden and keep the Rangers to one goal is huge. To come from down 1-0 to win it in overtime is huge. I expect a big response from the Rangers in game four.

Game four will be on Monday April 24th at 4:00pm PST.

Morgan Rielly of the Maple Leafs would put Brayden Point of the Lighting into the boards head first. That hit lead to Point leaving the game. Everyone on the ice would find a man. The Scrum would continue for a while leading to two fights. Austin Matthews (Maple Leafs) vs Steven Stamkos (Lightning) and Ryan O’Reilly (Maple Leafs) vs Nikita Kucherov (Lightning). Following the fights there was a lot of yelling on the benches. According to hockeyfights.com Steven Stamkos (Lightning) and Nikita Kucherov (Lightning) won their respective fights.

Late in the game Ryan O’Reilly would tie the game to send it to overtime.

Morgan Rielly would score in overtime to get the win for the Maple Leafs. The final score was 4-3 Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs now lead the series 2-1.

What a game. There was a lot of hits. A lot of action. A couple of fights. Plus an overtime winner. This was the closest game in the series so far. The Lightning are going to need a strong response in game four after giving up back to back games to the Maple Leafs.

The Vegas Golden Knights vs Winnipeg Jets series was tied going into game three. Game three would start out with a fight. After Keegan Kolesar (Golden Knights) laid out Adam Lowry (Jets) with a big open ice hit, Brenden Dillon (Jets) dropped the gloves. There wasn’t a lot of blows in this fight. There was a lot of jabs as both players tried to keep their distance. According to hockeyfights.com Brenden Dillon of the Winnipeg Jets won the fight. Chandler Stephenson would open up the scoring. His goal gave the Golden Knights the lead. Jack Eichel would add to the Golden Knights lead on the powerplay. Kyle Connor would score for the Jets. The first period ended 2-1 Golden Knights.

Jack Eichel would score again on the powerplay for the Golden Knights. Keegan Kolesar would score for the Vegas Golden Knights. The Golden Knights would lead 4-1 heading into the third period.

Nino Niederreiter would score to bring the Jets back within two goals. Mark Scheifele would score on the powerplay to bring the Jets within one goal of tying the game. Adam Lowry would score to tie the game with under 30 seconds left in the game. This game would head to overtime.

After no goals in the first overtime the game went into a second overtime still tied at 4-4. Michael Amadio would score the game winning goal in the second overtime for the Golden Knights. The Final score was 5-4 Golden Knights. The Vegas Golden Knights now have a 2-1 series lead.

What a way to start off a game. Set the tone early with a huge hit and a fight. Then the Jets crawled back after being down by three goals. They got the game tying goal with just seconds on the clock. Then would need not one but two overtimes. Vegas would be the victors but man this was a great game. Game four is now set to be a don’t miss.

Game four will be on Monday April 23rd at 6:30pm PST.
