The Carolina Hurricanes came into game four with a 2-1 series lead over the New York Islanders. Seth Jarvis scored the game’s opening goal on the powerplay. His powerplay goal gave the Hurricanes the lead. The score was 1-0 Hurricanes after the first period.

Martin Necas would add to the Hurricanes lead on the powerplay. Sebastian Aho then scored for the Hurricanes. The score was 3-0 Hurricanes going into the third period.

Seth Jarvis would score his second goal of the game to get the Hurricanes up by four goals. Adam Pelech then scored to get the Islanders on the board. Mackenzie MacEachern would then score for the Hurricanes. Bo Horvat would score short handed to give the Islanders their second goal of the game. The final score was 5-2 Hurricanes. The Carolina Hurricanes now have a 3-1 series lead over the New York Islanders. The Hurricanes now have a chance to close out the series as it shifts back to Carolina.

Where did the Islanders go wrong? Twenty four penalty minutes doesn’t help. Carolina also got ten more hits. Carolina is just proving to be too much of a challenge for the Islanders. The way things are going I think Carolina will win the series with a game five win.

Game Five will be on Tuesday April 25th at 4:00pm PST.

Coming into game four the Boston Bruins had a 2-1 series lead over the Florida Panthers. Brad Marchand would score the only goal of the first period on the powerplay to give the Bruins the lead. The Bruins led the game 1-0 after the first period.

Jake DeBrusk scored on the powerplay early into the second period to give the Bruins a two goal lead. Matthew Tkachuk would score to give the Panthers their first goal of the game. Heaing into the third period the score was 2-1 Bruins.

Tyler Bertuzzi scores for the Bruins. Sam Bennett scored for the Panthers on the powerplay. Jake DeBrusk scored for the Bruins. Taylor hall scored for the Bruins. Following his goal Matthew Tkachuk and the Bruins goalie would push each other then get in each others faces. That let to a scrum involving all of the players on the ice. Eventually Derek Forbort (Bruins) would fight Brandon Montour (Panthers) would drop the gloves in a fight that didn’t see too many punches thrown. According to hockeyfights.com Derek Forbort of the Boston Bruins won the fight. The Bruins goalie Linus Ullmark would eventually try to fight the Matthew Tkachuk of the Panthers but the refs didn’t allow that. Two players would end up receiving minor penalties. Four players would end up with game misconducts. That did include the Bruins goalie. Taylor Hall would score again for the Bruins. The final score was 6-2 Bruins. The Boston Bruins now have a 3-1 series lead over the Florida Panthers heading back to Boston.

Powerplay goals are what put this game out of reach for Florida. Despite more shots the Panthers couldn’t make it happen. It’s hard to tell if the Bruins will take game five and finish the series. They have it them but the Panthers did win game two in Boston. For the Panthers they just need to get their offense rolling. I think there is a pretty good chance they will in game five. Honestly it’s the Bruins game to lose but don’t count the Panthers out.

Game Five will be on Wednesday April 26th at 4:00pm PST.

The Minnesota Wild came into game four with a 2-1 series lead over the Dallas Stars. Neither team scored in the first period. The game was tied at 0-0 going into the second period.

Tyler Seguin would score the first goal of the game to give the Dallas Stars the lead on the powerplay. The Stars would have a 1-0 lead after two periods.

Evgenii Dadonov would score to give the Stars a two goal lead. John Klingberg would score for the Wild to cut the Stars lead back to one goal. Tyler Seguin would score his scond powerplay goal of the game to get the Stars back up by two goals. Frederick Gaudreau would score on the powerplay for the Wild. The final score was 3-2 Stars. The series is now tied at 2-2.

The Stars barely held on to win the game. The Wild fought the whole game to keep themselves in it. The Wild had ten more shots than the Stars. The Stars keeping the Wild out of the net on the powerplay was a huge difference maker for them. Overall I think this series is going for seven games and I would not be surprised to see more overtime or an overtime goal being the series winner.

Game Five will be on Tuesday April 25th at 5:00pm PST.

The Los Angeles Kings came into game four with a 2-1 series lead over the Edmonton Oilers. Gabriel Vilardi scored the opening goal to give the Kings the lead, Viktor Arvidsson scored to get the Kings up by two goals. Anze Kopitar would score on the power for the Kings. The Kings had a 3-0 lead after the first period.

Evan Bouchard would get the Oilers on the board on the powerplay. Leon Draisaitl scored to cut the Kings lead down to one. Leon Draisaitl scored again on the powerplay with under 30 seconds to go in the second period to tie the game. The score was tied at 3-3 going into the third period.

Matt Roy scored to regain the lead for the Kings. Evander Kane scored for the Oilers to tie the game. The game would go to overtime. After three periods the score was 4-4.

Zach Hyman score the game winning goal in overtime to give the Oilers the win. The series is now tied at 2-2 as it goes back to Edmonton.

The only lead the Oilers had in this one was the game winner in overtime. This was an incredible game. Kings fans probably considered the game over after the first period. The Oilers stayed with it and had an amazing comeback. Forcing overtime was big for them. The Oilers getting the series back to even was big. This was not the situation the Kings were looking for heading back to Edmonton.

Game Five will be on Tuesday April 25th at 6:30pm PST.
