The Boston Bruins came into game five with a 3-1 series lead over the Florida Panthers. The Bruins would have the chance to win the series with this game. Anthonly Duclair scored the first and only goal of the first period. His goal gave the Panthers the lead. After the first period the score was 1-0 Panthers.

Brad Marchand scored on the powerplay early in the second period. His goal for the Bruins would tie the game. Sam Bennett scored late in the second period to regain the Panthers lead. The score was 2-1 Panthers after two periods.

Patrice Bergeron scored on the powerplay to tie the game. Sam Reinhart scored on the powerplay to give the Panthers the lead. Taylor Hall scored to tie the game. The third period would end with the score tied at 3-3. The game would need overtime to determine a winner.

Matthew Tkachuk scored the game winning goal in overtime. His goal would give the Panthers the win. The final score was 4-3 Panthers. The Bruins still lead the series 3-2.

This was a big win for Florida. Boston couldn’t close the series out with this game. I think things will only get worse for Boston in game six. They could lose the series in game seven. Boston still has two games to win the series. All of the momentum is on Floridas side right now though.

Game six will be on Friday April 28th at 4:30pm PST.

The Colorado Avalanche and Seattle Kraken series was tied at 2-2 going into game five. Neither team scored in the first period. The game was still tied at 0-0 after the first period.

Morgan Geekie scored the opening goal. His goal gave the Kraken the lead. Nathan MacKinnon scored to tie the game. Tyler Kartye scored to give the Kraken the lead. The Kraken had a 2-1 lead going into the third period.

Yaani Gourde scored to put the Kraken up by two goals early in the third period. Evan Rodrigues scored to get the lead down to one goal. The Avalanche couldn’t complete the comeback. The game ended 3-2 Kraken. The Seattle Kraken now have a 3-2 series lead.

This is not the situation the defending champions want to be in. For Seattle this is exactly where they want to be. The have the champs on the ropes. Seattle now has a chance to win their first ever playoff series in game six.

Game six will be on Friday April 28th at 7:00pm PST.
