We are now twelve days into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There was four games last night. In the Eastern Conference the Carolina Hurricanes had the chance to eliminate the New York Islanders. In the other Eastern Conference game the Boston Bruins had the chance to eliminate the Florida Panthers. In the Western Conference the Dallas Stars had the chance to eliminate the Minnesota Wild. In the other Western Conference game the Seattle Kraken had the chance to eliminate the defending champions Colorado Avalanche.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs continue tonight with three games.

The Carolina Hurricanes came into game six with a chance to eliminate the New York Islanders. Cal Clutterbuck scored the first goal of the game to give the Islanders the lead. The score was 1-0 Islanders after the first period.
Neither team scored in the second period. The Islanders kept their 1-0 lead going into the third period.
Sebastian Aho scored for the Hurricanes to tie the game. After three periods the score eas tied at 1-1. The game would go into overtime.
Paul Stastny scored the game winning goal in overtime. His goal gave the Hurricanes the win. The final score was 2-1 Hurricanes. With that Hurricanes won thee series 4-2. The Carolina Hurricanes are now moving on to round two. The New York Islanders have been eliminated from the playoffs.


The Islanders had the lead for most of this game. They ended up being out shot and out hit. They weren’t able to add to their lead and that is what doomed them in this game. The longer they went with just a one goal lead the more likely the Hurricanes were to tie the game. Losing a game and a series in overtime is tough. The Hurricanes out played the Islanders in game six.
To recap the series the series the Hurricanes won game one 2-1. they won game two 4-3 in overtime. The Islanders won game three 5-1. The Hurricanes won game four 5-2. The Islanders won game five 3-2. The Hurricanes won game six 2-1 in overtime.
The Carolina Hurricanes will now play the winner of the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers series in round two.


The Boston Bruins came into game six with a chance to advance to round two by beating the Florida Panthers. Brandon Montour scored the first goal of the game. His goal gave the Panthers the lead. Tyler Bertuzzi scored on the powerplay for the Bruins to tie the game. Matthew Tkachuk scored to give the Panthers the lead. The score was 2-1 Panthers after the first period.
David Pastrnak scored to tie the game on the powerplay. Aleksander Barokv scored to give the Panthers the lead. The score was 3-2 Panthers after the second period.
Tyler Bertuzzi scored to tie the game. David Pastrnak scored to give the Bruins the lead on the powerplay. Zac Dalpe scored to tie the game. Jake DeBrusk scored short handed to give the Bruins the lead. Matthew Tkachuk scored on the powerplay to tie the game. Eetu Luostarinen scored to give the Panthers the lead. Sam Reinhart scored late in the game to put the Panthers up by two goals. The final score was 7-5 Panthers.


This game was a scoring fest. The Panthers have forced a game seven. Will the Bruins be able to come take game seven? Will the Panthers be able to complete the comeback and defeat the Bruins?

The Dallas Stars had the chance to eliminate the Minnesota Wild in game six. Roope Hintz scored the only goal of the first period. His goal gave the Stars the lead. The Stars had a 1-0 lead after the first period.
Wyatt Johnston scored to put the Stars up by two goals. Mason Marchment scored late in the period to put the Stars up by three goals. The score was 3-0 Stars heading into the third period.
Fredrick Gaudreau scored to get the Wild on the board. Late in the period Max Domi scored for the Stars. The final score was 4-1 Stars. The Dallas Stars have eliminated the Minnesota Wild in six games. The Stars will be moving on to round two. The Minnesota Wild are out of the playoffs.


The Wild didn’t show up in this one. they Let the Stars get up by three goals before the third period. By the time the Wild scored it was already too late. The Stars proved to be too much of a challenege for the wild.
Recapping the series The Wild won game one in double overtime 3-2. The Stars won game two 7-3. The Wild won game three 5-1. The Stars won game four 3-2. The Stars won game five 4-0. The Stars won game six 4-1.
The Dallas Stars have now advanced to round two. They will play the winner of the Colorado Avalanche Seattle Kraken series.

The Seattle Kraken came into game six with the chance to eliminate the Colorado Avalanche. Vince Dunn gave the Kraken the lead. Mikko Rantanen scored late in the period to tie the game. The score was 1-1 after the first period.
Erik Johnson scored to give the avalanche the lead. Artturi Lehkonen scored to put the Avalanche up by two goals. The score was 3-1 Avalanche after two periods.
Artturi Lehkonen scored the only goal of the third period with less than 20 seconds to go in the game. His goal secured the win for the avalanche. The final score was 4-1 avalanche. The series is now tied at 3-3.


Colorado was able to force a game seven. They won this game pretty thoroughly. Will the Kraken eliminate the defending champions in game seven? Will the Avalanche prove they are still the team to beat by advance to round two?

Game sixes finish up tonight. The Toronto Maple Leafs have a chance to eliminate the Tampa Bay Lightning. Are the Maple Leafs going to choke and blow the rest of this series? Falling apart in round one is tradition in Toronto at this point. Will Toronto finally overcome their biggest hurdle (round one of the playoffs since 2004) in franchise history? Will Tampa Bay be able to force a game seven? Will Tampa Bay stun Toronto once again?
The New Jersey Devils will have the chance to eliminate the New York Rangers. Will the Devils complete the series comeback? Will the Rangers return to their game one and game two form?
The Edmonton Oilers will have the chance to eliminate the Los Angeles Kings. Will the Oilers be able to hold a lead? Will the Oilers dominate? Will the Kings catch up? Will the Kings force a game seven? Will the Oilers advance to round two?


The Vegas Golden Knights, Carolina Hurricanes, and Dallas Stars have advanced to round two. The Winnipeg Jets, New York Islanders, and Minnesota Wild have been eliminated.
