Day Thirteen Recap Of The 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs

We are now thirteen days into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There was three games last night. In the Eastern Conference the Toronto Maple Leafs had the chance to eliminate the Tampa Bay Lightning. In the other Eastern Conference game the New Jersey Devils had the chance to eliminate the Nee York Rangers. In the Western Conference the Edmonton Oilers had the chance to eliminate the Los Angeles Kings.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continue tonight with two games.

The Toronto Maple Leafs had the opportunity to win their series over the Tampa Bay Lightning in game six. Neither team scored in the first period. The game remained scoreless after the first period.

Austin Matthews scored the games opening goal. His goal gave the Maple Leafs the lead. The score was 1-0 maple leafs heading into the third period.

With their backs against the wall and facing elimination Steven Stamkos scored to tie the game. The score was 1-1 after three periods. The game would go into overtime.

John Tavares scored the game and series winning in overtime. His goal gave the Maple Leafs the win. The final score was 2-1 Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs won the series 4-2 with their game six win. The Maple Leafs now advance to round two. The Tampa Bay Lightning have been eliminated. This is the first playoff series win for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Toronto finally did it. They won a series. The Lightning did well in this series. I thought they were going to force a game seven. It didn’t happen. Toronto will live to fight in another series. The memes have been glorious. The fans in Toronto have been going none stop since yesterday. They ben doing everything from climbing lamp posts to setting off fireworks.They are acting like they won the cup. I would be too if my team won a playoff series for the first time in almost twenty years.

Recapping the series the Lightning eon game one 7-3 and we all thought the Maple Leafs were done for. The Maple Leafs went on to win game two 7-2. They won game three 4-3 in overtime. They won hame four 5-4 in overtime. The Lightning won game five 4-2. The Maple Leafs won game six 2-1 in overtime. Outside of the first game it was a really close series.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will either play the Boston Bruins or Florida Panthers in round two. They will know who they play after tonight.

The New Jersey Devils came into game six with a chance to defeat the New York Rangers in round one. The Devils scored first. Curtis Lazar scored the first goal of the game. Chris Kreider scored for the Rangers to tie the game. The score was 1-1 after the first period.

Mika Zibanejad scored to give the Rangers the lead. Vladimir Tarasenko scored to put the rangers up by two goals. The score was 3-1 Rangers heading into the third period.

Barclay Goodrow scored for the Rangers. Braden Schneider scored for the Rangers. Dawson Mercer scored for the Devils on the powerplay. The final score was 5-2 Rangers. The series is now tied at 3-3.

With their backs against the wall the Rangers came out swinging. They made the Devils chase the game. The Devils were never able to catch up. There will be a game seven. Will the Devils put the final nail in the Rangers coffin? Will the underdog Rangers get the upset?

Game Seven will be on Monday May 1st 2023. It will be the only game tomorrow.

The Edmonton Oilers came into game six with a chance to win their series with the Los Angeles Kings. Connor McDavid scored early in the first to put the Oilers up. Sean Durzi scored to tie the game. Klim Kostin scored to give the Oilers the lead. The score was 2-1 Oilers after the first period.

Leon Draisaitl scored on the powerplay to add to the Oilers lead. Adrian Kempe scored on the powerplay to bring the Kings within one. Kevin Fiala scored on the powerplay to tie the game. Klim Kostin scored to regain the Oilers lead. The score was 4-3 Oilers after two periods.

Phillip Danault scored while short handed to tie the game. Kailer Yamamoto scored to regain the lead for the Oilers. His goal would become the game and series winning goal. The Final score was 5-4. With that win the Oilers won the series 4-2. The Edmonton Oilers now advance to round two. The Los Angeles Kings are now eliminated from the playoffs.

This was another game where the Oilers couldn’t hold on to a two goal lead. Not holding on to a lead put them in trouble in the third period. We will see if these issues continue to plague the Edmonton Oilers in round two. The Kings lost the game. The fought back and fought back hard. The Oilers scoring power was just too much for the Kings to keep up with in this game.

Recapping the series the Kings won game one 4-3 in overtime. the Oilers won game two 4-2. The Kings won game three 3-2 in overtime. The Oilers won game four 5-4 in overtime. The Oilers won game five 6-3. The Oilers won game six 5-4 to complete the series win.

The Edmonton Oilers have advanced to round two. They will play the Vegas Golden Knights in round two.

Game sevens start tonight. The Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers play tonight. The Winner of that game will take the series. The winner will face the Toronto Maple Leafs in round two. Will the Bruins be able to come take game seven? Will the Panthers be able to complete the comeback and defeat the Bruins?

In tonights other game the defending champions the Colorado Avalanche and first time playoff team the Seattle Kraken will go at it. The winner will move on to face the Dallas Stars round two. Will the Kraken eliminate the defending champions in game seven? Will the Avalanche prove they are still the team to beat by advance to round two?

The Vegas Golden Knights, Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Edmonton Oilers have advanced to round two. The Winnipeg Jets, New York Islanders, Minnesota Wild, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Los Angeles Kings have been eliminated.

The Vegas Golden Knights will the Edmonton Oilers in round two. The Carolina Hurricanes will play either the New Jersey Devils or New York Rangers in round two. The Dallas Stars will play either the Colorado Avalanche or Seattle Kraken in round two. The Toronto Maple Leafs will play the Boston Bruins or Florida Panthers in round two.
